More than 15+ x the most beautiful (relatively undiscovered) beaches in Ibiza

What we forgot to mention are the best beaches on our favorite Spanish island: Ibiza! Herewith: 15+ x the most beautiful (relatively undiscovered) beaches in Ibiza. Nothing better, I promise. Highly recommended: do not rent a car in the most affordable class; It will come as no surprise that some of the roads leading to the most beautiful, secluded, quiet beaches are not the most accessible.

Curious about even more beautiful things in Ibiza? We have it for you. in us Ibiza ebook!

Cala Salada + Cala Saladeta

Cala Salada + Cala Saladeta

It is a 'knife to the throat' situation, but if we have to choose NOW and are not hungry, we will head straight for Cala Salada, park there and climb the rock that leads to Cala Saladeta. This unknown and beautiful Spanish (read: mainly Spaniards here and hardly a Dutch pale fart to be seen - wonderful) stand (a mini bay it is) is really a picture perfect where the soft sand slips between your toes when you walk to the clearer than clear blue water . Where you can see the shadow of the fish (and therefore also fish), so clear. There is no catering, but we do have boys and girls walking around with snacks and drinks. The first, larger beach, Cala Salada, has catering facilities; a simple nothing wrong with thing at all. And sunbeds: nice too! The beach here has small pebbles like most beaches on this side of the island, so you know.

Cala Pada

Cala Pada

Cala what? Cala Pada! You probably didn't know that one yet, did you? Well, Cala Pada is a wonderfully unknown and undeservedly unloved beach on the otherwise often overcrowded Ibiza. Not so Cala Pada. The family beach near Santa Eularia is just that: a family friendly family beach where it is often remarkably quiet (isn't it?) Probably because the beach is devoid of trendy beach bars. Ah. What is there? Beautiful blue water, place to put your towel, photogenic blue fishing huts half in the water and a swing. Count your winnings.

Olivera Cove

Olivera Cove

Don't tell anyone, but anyone who claims that Ibiza has no more undiscovered places can go looking for them Olivera Cove, a 'secret', intimate bay with a small cozy Chiringuito. Super local it is there, and therefore so much fun! You will find it on the east side of Ibiza, not very far from it Cala Llonga and Amante Ibiza (a pleasant bit upgrade beach tent). You have to drive down a long dirt road to get to this intimate beach. But once it arrives, it's a delight. trustus. A plus point is that this bay is mainly known among... locals and is therefore literally and figuratively an undiscovered place. Oh and you can also eat and drink something delicious here: there is just (summer 2021) a new beach bar that is looking very very very good so there is a good chance that Cala Olivera will soon no longer be so undiscovered: go quickly while you still can! Delicious simple small fish dishes, tasty tapas or sipping a cold one cocktail? Sounds good.

Cala de Boix + Pou de Lleo

Cala de Boix + Pou de Lleo

One is our absolute favorites Cala de Boix, near Pou de Lleo in an inlet in the North-East of the island. No trendy restaurants, but a wonderfully uncomplicated beach. The beach is slightly larger - and usually a bit busier - but it is still a real 'neighborhood beach'. You descend via a long staircase where you reach a lake halfway Cozy beach bar. Then you reach this bay with a sandy beach and clear light blue water. Surprise! Restaurant Cala Boix sits at the top of the bay and is known for its good fish dishes and amazing views over the impressive rock formations.

Pou de Lleo? Si! That is also a lovely bay, photogenic thanks to the wooden boats and fishing huts. Here is a small beach bar and a cozy Chiringuito (Chiringuito Canal den Martí Pou Des Lleo), scroll further down in this article to read more about it.

Cala d'en Serra Ibiza

Cala d'en Serra Ibiza

Also a mega favorite, this beach in the far north of Ibiza where you are not far away in Portinatx Lovers finds. Speaking of which… To be honest: actually it is a bay just right next to it Los Enamorados Ibiza perhaps even a little more friendly than Los Enamorados itself since kids are not welcome at Los Enamorados and the prices are quite, well, expensive. To the hotel restaurant for a drink (and loads of inspiration for home) and the hotel shop (which is simply amazing) and then to the bay next to the hotel. Or straight to Cala d'en Serra because that's what we were talking about. Cala d'en Serra is an oval beach in the north that faces east. Drive through Portinatx, pass the church on your right and take the next left. And then the road becomes bumpy, winding and framed by beautiful views. Once down (don't drive too far but park where others went before you) it's paradise. There is one small beach bar that serves fresh sea bass, a hamburger and a salad. There are only two tables, but there are more sun beds, provided you are on time. Very nice, because here there is no powdery sand but small stones.

Caló des Moltons Ibiza

Caló des Moltons Ibiza

Port de Sant Miguel is by no means undiscovered, but the northern part of the small town still feels that way. Go looking for Restaurante Port Balansat: Near there you will see a sign saying Caló des Moltons Ibiza mentioned. And that is a quiet, narrow, pebbly beach with flat rocks, boat houses and wonderfully calm water.

Admittedly, you have to look a bit, but once you find it, you can never not see it again. And the final station is worth it, not least because of the small chiringuito: Utopia. Undiscovered, authentic, excellent fish from the grill and simply a unique spot on the tourist island. (2020 update: Utopia, the secret beach at Sant Miquel, has no permit so cannot/may not open this year!)

Cala Xarraca + S'Illot des Renclí Ibiza + Cala Xuclar.

Cala Xarraca + S'Illot des Renclí Ibiza + Cala Xuclar.

We loved the sheltered bay Cala Xarraca is also a short ride from Portinatx. Rocky, both in and out of the water, yes, but wonderful. Snorkeling? Then you've come to the right place. A juicy hamburger? Also check. If you go swimming or paddle in one of the kayaks that are rented out, you can easily end up on the following beach: S'Illot des Rencli, which isn't a bad thing at all. This narrow sandy beach feels like a discovery and the paella at the small restaurant is delicious. Just a little further north and you've arrived Cala Xuclar. A gem as far as we are concerned and still quiet even in the middle of summer. Small and clear, just like the only eatery there. Fish on your plate, feet in the sand, nothing you can do about it anymore.

Cala Mastella Ibiza

Cala Mastella Ibiza

As has often been said, the north, and also the north-east of Ibiza, is still unexplored. Small farms, unpaved roads and fewer tourists. Cala Mastella fits into this atmosphere: such neighborhood beach. Although… The highlight of a day at Cala Mastella is lunch at The Whiskers for which you have to reserve a table weeks in advance during the high season (so far for the undiscovered). The tables are located on the rocks right next to the tiny harbor and cooking is done in the open air. There is only one lunch option: fish. And only one time: 12.30:XNUMX. Or you have to go for the cliques, the bullit de peix, a fish stew served at 2 o'clock. Rumor has it that the King of Spain was once sent away because he didn't make a reservation... Just saying.

Cala Tarida Ibiza

Cala Tarida Ibiza

Popular but also quite large so easy to do and the rock formations around the beach are beautiful. Find a spot on one of the flat rocks at either end of the beach. Or better yet, look for the 'second' beach here, a narrow stretch of beach that you reach by walking up the stairs at the Can Yucas bar and then down again. Mind zero and just pass it by no entry walking board. Or go to beach number three: Es Pujolets. Lots of fisherman's huts, white sand, beautiful azure water and a collection of boats that have also found the spot.

(Not undiscovered at all... but still) Cala d'Hort Ibiza

(Not undiscovered at all... but still) Cala d'Hort Ibiza

Duh. The most famous of the bunch, which it became because of its iconic view of Es Vedrà, a 'mythical' rock in the water in the southwest of Ibiza. While you're there, or actually: if you're planning to go, reserve a table at Es Boldado restaurant. Near and on top of a cliff.

Atlantis

Atlantis

We can't (and don't want) to say too much about it, except that Atlantis is a hidden place in Ibiza that you can only reach via a 'secret' route. You are now a Google click away from Atlantis, but the mystery surrounding it remains interesting. Make sure you put on sturdy walking shoes, because we can safely call the walk there a hike. Once you're down, you easily forget that you have to go back up again later, if only because it's breathtakingly beautiful here.

(El Chiringuito) at Cala Gracioneta Ibiza

(El Chiringuito) at Cala Gracioneta Ibiza

Okay, anyone who has done a little reading knows this The Beach Bar Cala Gracioneta probably by now, but he is so nice that he cannot remain unmentioned here. Not far from Cala Bassa, the most touristy beach in Ibiza (but also a nice one with kids) and Platja de Compte - the small beautiful bay and the accompanying beautiful Chiringuito suddenly became a mega-hit in 2019. And it probably still is in 2020. That's okay, we'll give it to them.

Cala Benirràs

Cala Benirràs

On Sundays you will (still!) find groups on this beach in the northwest of Ibiza who come together to watch the sunset, while happily beating their drums, preferably around a campfire. The rest of the time just a nice beach with a simple restaurant.

Es Pou des Lleó Ibiza

Es Pou des Lleó Ibiza

Don't tell anyone else... One of the best places where it is not hysterically busy even during high season. Charming is the best word, thanks to the typical wooden fisherman's huts that surround the bay. A beach like in the pictures, with sand that slopes evenly and surrounded by rocks. + a fantastic little beach bar in the middle of the beach. Restaurant Pou d'es Lleo Ibiza is located just before the bay and is known for its good Paella. Here (especially on Sundays) it is always packed with large families & noisy, fun-loving locals.

Aigua Blanches Ibiza

Aigua Blanches Ibiza

This small (nudist) beach is located on the road to Cala Vincent near Bar Anita in Sant Carlos to the left. From the parking lot, walk down the steep path (and be prepared for the return climb...) and walk past the beach bar and continue to the right. Hidden behind the rock is the perfect beach bar with the tastiest (huge) sandwiches for €6: super simple with fresh ingredients and made right in front of you. The staff visibly enjoy their place and that quickly makes you as a guest just as relaxed. As said, walking naked is allowed, but don't expect violence lying around: most people just keep their pants on. Be careful: the beach is quite subject to the whims of nature and during the summer of 2019 and 2020 the beach was almost completely 'gone' (indeed, just gone). The beach bar is still there and those same whims can ensure that everything ends up on its feet again, but be warned!

Sa Caleta Ibiza

Sa Caleta Ibiza

The little beach Sa Caleta is surrounded by fishermen's houses and the restaurant of the same name is just as simple and cozy as the surroundings: wooden floor and tables, white cloths and colored seats in the garden where you sit under the shade of pine trees. There is live music on Thursdays. Be sure to eat the sardines or one of the other very affordable fish dishes! Sa Caleta

Cala Bonita

Cala Bonita

Also definitely looking forward to s'Estanyol Beach with restaurant Cala Bonita. Again not the easiest way there, but definitely worth it. It is a beautifully hidden bay, with an amazing restaurant. To be fair; it's not cheap, but enjoy it for a long time here lazy lunch is a real one Experience. Everything is nice here: the food, the wine, the decor, the service and the view. Gogogo.

Niu Blau Ibiza

Niu Blau Ibiza

The beaches around Santa Eularia Ibiza may be less known, but certainly no less worthwhile. The beach of Niu Blau, for example, is a wonderfully vast, quiet sandy beach with trees in the middle of the sand, so you can always seek shade. In the middle of the bay you will find Pura Vida restaurant. Here you will find luxurious sun beds and a ditto menu.

If you walk all the way to the end of the beach on the right, you will find the chilled cocktail bar at the top of the bay Soulgood Ibiza with a beautiful view over the bay. There are swings and a pet dog roams around – conviviality at its best. If you come from Pure Life the other side (left) of the beach, you come to an authentic local bar (think plastic white chairs, but top paella). We love it.

Cala Carbo Ibiza

Cala Carbo Ibiza

One more... A lovely (again? Yes, sorry) family beach in the southwest of Ibiza, not far from well-known beaches such as Cala d'Hort and Cala Vadella.
