3 x the nicest restaurants in The Hague
Oh oh The Hague is up again. You can book top restaurants via INSIDER. We know this, because we have tested a number of them #heavylife. Please read along.
The Scandinavian restaurant Bøg (pronounced as Beu) is located on the Prinsenstraat in The Hague and boy, what a damn good restaurant this is. They call it New Nordic Cuisine, and it is original and special. Fermenting, smoking and pickling like they do in Denmark and Sweden. You can choose from a vegetarian menu or a meat/fish menu and this consists of 5 courses, both equally delicious! The dish with celeriac, truffle and porcini mushrooms is one that often comes back in our dreams. The dish with pigeon, smoked beetroot and berries was also a work of art on a plate. And the pigeon gets a big ten, it was that tender.
The two friends Tom Janssen and Teun Zuurveen have been buddies since primary school. Later they lost sight of each other for a while, but only once back together it was like old times again. Restaurant Tommy's and Zuurveen on the Veenkade quickly became a reality with Tom at the helm and Teun behind the stove. At Tommy you can again choose from a vegetarian menu or a meat and fish menu. Oh and nice to know: Bøg and Tommy's are practically next to each other.

Restaurant Meatcave once started in an old cellar in Leiden (that explains the name), then the whole thing moved to Rotterdam (around the corner from the always nice Witte de With) and now Meatcave can also be found in The Hague.
What's on the menu at Meatcave restaurant? Well, surprise surprise: there is no menu! No, don't be silly? Yep, no lie. The skilled chefs (and also experts in everything that comes from the Big Green Egg, nomnomnom) regularly change the menu. If you eat there, the dishes per course will be a surprise. The only rule that applies is that we only work with responsible products that take the welfare of animals into account.
All restaurants mentioned above are an INSIDER (part of TheFork): a selection of the best restaurants (often also slightly more luxurious and expensive). And you don't just get into this INSIDER selection, no no, the restaurant must be listed in the Bib Gourmand of Michelin or Gault Millau or receive a rating of 9 or higher.
