Holiday Home in The Netherlands, Veluwe
Stek's outdoor area
But really: for a tiny house, Stek's Buitenplek is surprisingly spacious!
A tiny house, but not so tiny. Bee Stek's outdoor area You can actually fit five of you in! Cozy, certainly (so don't go with your sister-in-law who can't stand you after two o'clock), but definitely still plenty of space. And hey – you have the woods and all sorts of nature within easy reach, so you can really let loose there too. But really: for a tiny house, Buitenplek van Stek is surprisingly spacious! The living room is expansive, you can all fit on the sofa, and the most cozy corner of the house is around the pallet fireplace. There's definitely an outdoor area too: a large dining table, chairs for lounging, and a BBQ for when the sun shines (although we're also big fans of a winter BBQ). Because you're at Holiday Park de Vossenberg, it's not completely secluded, but there is plenty of privacy.
A tiny house also needs to be practical. Harriet and Liselotte (also the (former) owners of the lovely STEK space in Amsterdam!) have carefully considered this. There's a place for dirty shoes, clever storage for your clothes and other belongings, blankets for chilly evenings, and a shade cloth for the sun. They explain everything in the manual you receive upon booking. So you don't have to reinvent the wheel upon arrival.
Location, location, location
In the heart of a wooded area, without being miles away from anywhere. Great! Within a few minutes, you can walk to Zandenplas, a small swimming lake that also slopes gently into the water – convenient with kids. Walking and cycling routes? Of course! From mid-August, the heather is in bloom, which is beautiful, especially at sunrise. And in autumn, the forest is also incredibly beautiful. While walking, you can spot wild boar, deer, and sometimes even wolf tracks (at the wildlife viewing screen in Vierhouten, you can do this unnoticed). There's also plenty of entertainment at the park: go-karts, a natural playground, a tennis court, and a pétanque court. Enjoy a whole day outdoors and then curl up on that big, soft sofa by the fireplace with a glass of wine. And how well will you sleep in that romantic box bed?
A little further away from Buitenplek van Stek there are three Hanseatic cities nearby: Elburg, Zwolle and Harderwijk. Especially Harderwijk is a really nice town on Lake Veluwe. You have the trendy beach club Walhalla, at Partridge Get your award-winning ice cream (but really next level) and Harderwijk really has some top restaurants, including De Basiliek and 't Nonnetje**.
The eye wants something too
This tiny house is beautiful! The love and attention to detail in the interior is clearly evident. Each room has unique and distinctive colors (from Farrow & Ball), yet it remains a harmonious whole. The box bed is rustic and romantic, while the other room has a more forest theme, which the kids will naturally love (the wicker lamp here is also so cool!). There are beautiful prints on the wall, and where Stek's Buitenplek really earns ten points is the cutlery and crockery. Nothing is as pathetic as a beer or wine from a tiny glass. No, here, just proper wine glasses. So, a beautiful interior, a comfortable sofa to relax on, and of course, that gorgeous pallet fireplace: beautiful and wonderfully warm.
Restaurants nearby
A fifteen minute walk away you will find Village inn de Roskam: friendly service, wide selection of (special) beer and a nice menu with changing specials. If beer is your thing, Brewery on the Canal Elburg is also a great place to sit on a terrace. Delicatessen Proeflokaal (also in Elburg) is your next stop to stock up on things for your drinks platter. As we mentioned, Harderwijk is top-notch for its selection of restaurants and cafes. The Nun** They also have a great vegetarian selection, and their Thai curry ice cream is unforgettable. We've already been back three times. Dikke Dirck in Harderwijk is colorful, exuberant, and extensive, just like their menu. When in Elburg, definitely get an ice cream there. PartridgeIn 2023 they even managed to win the title 'Golden Ice Creation 2023' for their Mille-Tuille.
Keffers & Kroost
The cottage is just a bit too nice and new for dirty dog paws. Kids? Right! There are also all sorts of toys and games, and Stek's Buitenplek has a high chair.
