Glamping in France, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

Domaine Bonneblond, France

At Domaine Bonneblond, everything revolves around the ultimate outdoor living experience. A refreshing dip in the lake or pool and long evenings under the stars. Relaxation without obligations, yet with endless possibilities – that's what this gem in the French countryside is all about.

In the middle of the green heart of France, in the region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, is Domaine Bonneblond. Dana and Eva, two young women, have taken on the challenge to make their dream come true here. A place where you can completely relax, where time seems to stand still and where you wake up in the morning with the sound of birds whistling.

This vast 70-hectare estate has 10 hectares set aside for camping (where you can pitch your own camper or tent) and glamping (with safari tents, bell tents etc.), but in a unique way. Think of self-made forest paths, a cozy courtyard with long tables, and a sunny back terrace.

Whether you're looking to browse a flea market, visit a vineyard, play a round of golf, or explore the most beautiful hiking trails – the area around Bonneblond offers it all. But let's be honest: the true charm of this place lies not only in what you can do here, but also in how it feels. Escape the hustle and bustle, spend time with family or friends, and simply enjoy the outdoors.

Accommodations

At Bonneblond you decide how you sleep. There are 23 accommodations, ranging from glamping and safari tents to tree houses, bell tents and a group accommodation. For those who like a bit more luxury, there are studios with their own facilities. But for those who really want something special, there is the tree tent on the edge of the forest. With two floors and a view that will make you speechless, it feels like you are in a completely different world. There is also a camping area where you can rent a camping spot and pitch your own tent or camper.

The accommodations are designed in such a way that you not only sleep comfortably, but above all live outside. During the day you relax on your terrace, in a hammock or with your feet in the water. With a book in one hand and a glass of wine in the other - that's a holiday!

The eye wants something too

Bonneblond is not just a place to stay. It is a wonderful place to stay, situated in an oasis of peace and surrounded by a picturesque landscape. You will find charming corners everywhere on the site: shady spots under the trees, wooden decking at the swimming lake and a lovely courtyard. It is precisely those cosy places where you can come together (or just enjoy yourself) that make it extra special. The natural swimming lake and the swimming pool offer the ideal cooling on hot days, while the courtyard with long tables invites you to dine and share stories until the early hours.

Eating and drinking is done here in the French way: extensively, at your leisure and preferably in good company. You can cook yourself, but you can also join the Table d'Hôte, which simply means "daghap" or "what's on the menu." Here you can enjoy a delicious meal without worrying about the dishes. They try to get as much as possible from their own vegetable garden. The first year with the garden was a success, so they're expanding it this year. Now, that's what we want! Also fun for the kids: helping pick from the garden or decorating your own pizza one evening.

So you thought the party was only in the evening? Absolutely not! There's also a delicious breakfast buffet with boiled eggs, orange juice, French cheeses, and sausage – all locally sourced. Croissants, oui oui, and of course, baguettes and other artisan breads from the local bakery. Bon appétit.

Even more with your feet up? Then choose the sunny back terrace, where the kiddos can play on the lawn and you can watch the sunset with a glass of viognier in your hand.

Location, location, location

Just a three-hour drive from Paris, in the middle of nowhere, you will find this beautiful domain. A place where you don't really want to leave, but if you do, there is plenty to do. For brocante lovers there is plenty of choice. The brocante market in Cosne-d'Allier is a must, with stalls on the grounds of Château Petit BoisHere the day starts early with a glass of rosé in hand, because wandering among vintage treasures and antique furniture simply goes better with a drink.

Would you rather taste different wines? The vineyards of Saint-Pourcain, one of the oldest wine regions in France. You can taste, take a tour and learn more about how the wines are made. And then the nature. The Jaumâtre Stoness is a magical place full of large rock formations with a view that will leave you speechless. Not far from Bonneblond is also the forest of Troncais, one of the oldest and most impressive forests in France, perfect for a long walk.

At Bonneblond, nothing is required, but everything is possible. Walking, cycling, golfing, jeu de boules, shopping at the markets, getting lost on the domain, or just baking in the sun by the pool, the swimming lake, or in the grass. We want it all, and that is possible! Every day a new adventure.

Keffers and Kroost

Bonneblond is a paradise for both children and dogs. For the little ones there is an activity program with building huts, treasure hunts, making dream catchers and live stratego, which is secretly just as much fun for adults looking for an excuse to join in.

Bonneblond is just as much fun for dogs as it is for their owners. They can run around freely, swim in the lake, and sniff around freely without strict rules. No off-limits areas or burdensome restrictions here.
