Broekhof De Butcher's Daughter, Haarlem

This nice delicatessen is located in a typical location that you have cycled past so often, namely in the (increasingly nicer) Kruisstraat. Broekhof, De Butcher's Daughter is the address for the tastiest sausages and best sandwiches (also vegetarian!) in Haarlem.

We will of course come back to those sandwiches, but they only taste really good if you know the story behind the case. This is a family business where the youngest Broekhof member has been in charge since last year. Guusje, a lady who inherited her love for the trade from her father and, as a little girl, regularly put on the butcher's apron to help in the business. The butcher's daughter has worked for sausage brand Brandt & Levie for years and has now breathed new life into her father's business. As a great supporter of honest and conscious eating, Guusje only sells local and fresh products.

Treat yourself to a nice piece of meat, a fresh (vegetarian) meal to-go or a hearty sandwich. You can enjoy the latter outside on a sunny day because Guusje recently shares a tiny terrace in front of the door with neighbor Axel, from Ax Specialty Coffee. We recommend the fennel salami. And the homemade pastel de nata to top it off. You won't regret your pit stop at Broekhof, De Butcher's Daughter.
