A mini break for two, and I can SO recommend it to everyone. Pick up your child (one, the others can come another time) and go on vacation together for a few days. So. Incredibly. Fun.
We made ourselves super comfortable and stayed at the hotel a lot too: @ibizabay is a huge tip for that, especially with kids. The best kids' club and an amazing spa where I actually spent a whopping 1,5 hours twice because Elvis thought the kids' club was so fantastic. Okay, that's good.
But we also tracked down old and a few new spots, and starting next week, they will all be on the website and in the e-guide. Including many of our favorite fincas, where I prefer to stay with a friend or the family. But first, a tribute to the vacation with my bestie.
Oh! And we wrapped up the week at @nativohotelibiza where we stayed for the 2nd time, just like at Nobu Ibiza Bay: a very nice place for really good prices.
(Elvis sang this song all week. Don't judge)
As much as we love testing, tasting, and trying new things, sometimes nothing beats playing it safe. Especially when you’re short on time (hello super-fast pit stop in The Hague) and just want to sit down and enjoy a nice, cozy meal. The answer: Pizza Beppe. Located in many places and consistently good. In The Hague too!
We went for a limoncello spritz to start (the drink of this summer, I've been told... okay, fine). Wonderfully refreshing and the perfect start. The pecorino with truffle honey, along with the Pizza Piccante Burrata, was the absolute favorite. You can taste the freshly made tomato sauce, and it is truly delicious.
For dessert, we *had* to (the gentle coercion was appreciated) try the homemade tiramisu, and it was really good. But still... the vanilla ice cream with olive oil and sea salt was the favorite.
'Our' @liespolet went to Kortrijk a few weeks ago and it was so much fun, that just had to be shared here too (Lies compiled all the tips into an article on BartsBoekje.com. Just type 'Kortrijk' into the search bar on the homepage and you're there.
(Spoiler: So Kortrijk is Very Nice)
And because you all responded so well to my request for even more fun things to do in Maastricht (see a few posts back, 'Here for the captions!'): let me know what we missed in Kortrijk, for the next round!
@lovekortrijk, @toerismeleiestreek
Yes! Soon, fi-nal-ly back to Maastricht! Isn't it bizarre that you are sometimes abroad sooner/more often than in one of the most beautiful cities in our own country? But we are finally heading south again (after the summer holidays) and I am really looking forward to it.
Our to-do list so far... What am I still missing?
