Three healthy snacks for in between

The Christmas holidays are almost here. Perhaps that realization is not yet fully there because it is still 15 degrees outside and Santa is still in the country, but really people, it's happening...Again. It is mid-November, the first people have already decorated the Christmas trees and so the end of the year is in sight.

One thing is certain: the holidays will look different this year. Normal go, first to the in-laws, on to your best friends, your own parents, more friends in the evening and on and on. That will probably not be the case this year, but what does not have to change is the amount of food. Ha!

To the point: How nice it would be if we could lose an extra two kilos just before those holidays... Just for ourselves. Because that one dress looks better (and it also works particularly well at home). It's worth a try every year to make your Christmas outfit just a little tighter. Well, he comes! Three healthy snacks so you can skip that chocolate bar in the coming weeks.

Apple pie but different

Apple pie but different

Okay, okay, this isn't about healthy snacks that you can't eat. Love food and no one has to eat carrots and cucumber all day long, so these are three healthy snacks that you can eat with love and a good feeling.

What do you need

  • Apples (doesn't matter which ones)
  • Citroen
  • Cinnamon
  • Honey
  • Almond flour
  • Coconut grater
  • Nuts (cashew or walnut)

It's so easy folks. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Cut the apples into cubes and add cinnamon, not too sparingly. Sprinkle lemon juice over it and add the nuts. Then mix almond flour and honey until it becomes somewhat sticky. Sprinkle it over the apples so that they are covered in the almond flour. Sprinkle some coconut flakes on top. Pop into the oven for 15 to 20 minutes. And done. Delicious to eat straight, with your yoghurt or with your port malt.

Chocolate is too delicious to give up altogether.

What do you need

  • Dark chocolate (minimum 75%)
  • peanut butter
  • Coconut oil
  • Maple syrup
  • Almond flour
  • Nuts (optional)
  • Coconut

Mix a generous scoop of almond flour with two teaspoons of maple syrup and two spoons of melted coconut oil. Mix this together and make the base in your cake tin. Bake the base at 180 degrees in the oven. After about 10 minutes the base is ready, let it cool in the refrigerator. The next step is the 'caramel' layer. Place two spoons of melted coconut oil, four large spoons of peanut butter and vanilla in a pan and bring to a gentle boil. Then pour the mixture onto the base and place it back in the refrigerator. After about 30 minutes the caramel layer is hard. Now you can start melting chocolate, how much is up to you, depends on how thick you want the chocolate layer, ha.

Also delicious: coarse sea salt in the chocolate, nuts in the peanut butter layer or coconut on the chocolate layer.

Healthy chocolate balls

You must have Bart's chocolate balls.

What do you need

  • 100 grams of dates
  • 75 grams of mixed nuts
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa
  • 25 grams of dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa)
  • few tablespoons of coconut grater
Soak the dalels in hot water. Then blend the dalels in a food processor into a puree. Then add the coconut oil, chocolate, cocoa and nuts. Grind well a few times until a coarse whole is formed. You make about 15 balls from this mixture. Hop into the fridge and there is your 3rd healthy snack.

No one needs to eat carrots and cucumbers all day long, what matters is that you feel good about it. These recipes are simply delicious and will ensure that you ignore the chocolate bars and chips for a while.
