Family campsite Dijk en Meer on the IJsselmeer: ​​the perfect balance between relaxation and activity

A place that we actually prefer to keep to ourselves, but of course share with you. After all, we give everyone the pearls, especially if they are in their own country. Before you read any further, can you please promise us that you won't be booking this en masse? Just kidding of course, we would understand if you did.

Family campsite Dijk&Meer is located on the IJsselmeer in Andijk, near Enkhuizen. So that is in the middle of the green and (rhyme incoming) there is so much to do. Although you can also just chill for a while, escape from the daily grind. With a little energy left, you can splash (or paddle, kayak or sail) in the IJsselmeer, hang out under the green trees, read a book in the tent, or socialize by a crackling fire. You can also bake pizzas in the pizza ovens, have fun in the playground, pony rides on the grounds of the pony ranch, play tennis, fly kites, and play miniature golf. Oh, and they have all kinds of activities: more about that later. At family campsite Dijk&Meer in the green there is the perfect balance between relaxation and activity.

Hidden, like a secret garden, the campsite is located in the middle of the Proefpolder. The moment you drive down the dike, past the horses to Holiday Park Het Grootslag, your holiday already begins. The only thing you have to do to make your weekend/week or night away a real success is to go to the holiday park on the left or to park to the right of the barrier and walk via the playground to the tram (which ran around Vienna in the early 1900s). So, you're inside the tram; Here you check in at the reception.

It soon becomes clear that Dijk en Meer campsite is so much more than just a place to pitch your tent; you can escape the hectic pace of everyday life and gain new energy. Whoa, let's go back, because setting up a tent is not even necessary. The campsite offers a range of unique accommodations, including furnished bell tents, tiny houses, retro caravans, niche huts made from recycled material and a circus wagon. Although you can of course also pitch a tent.

You unzip your tent and you hear the cheerful chirping of birds within the silence of the dike area. Is that landscape and the water of the IJsselmeer just as inviting to start your day? The campsite is certainly inviting, everyone is welcome and it is a stage for adventurers. The campsite is run by the travel family of Gerdien and Meindert, and entrepreneur Marieke.

Bringing kids? Doing! Besides the fact that there is plenty to do for the little ones, children play an active role at the campsite by helping with the camping radio and the weekend coffee bar.

Activities

The activities at the campsite would deserve a whole article in themselves. To keep it manageable, we'll just include them with the article. So, come on, because what is there to do at the Dijk&Meer family campsite? The basic assumption is that being quiet and being bored are at least as important as all activities. The ideal combination of peace and activity: sometimes it is quiet, but all year round you can also participate in the following activities:

  • Atelier Bergen: making things with your hands? Yes, there is an artist in you too and Atelier Bergen teaches you old crafts and techniques.
  • IJSbad: you will brave the cold under the guidance of Wim Hof ​​instructor Jeroen Rodenburg. Of course you will learn the techniques to prepare your body, focus your mind and embrace the cold. You can do this for several days in July, send an email or call them in advance if you are interested.
  • Breath: “We have been breathing all our lives.” Duh, but not good. During these breathing sessions you will learn how to breathe deeply to reduce stress, promote relaxation and increase your energy. There are workshops, led by an experienced instructor, in which you will receive practical tips and techniques to improve your breathing and develop more awareness of your body and mind.
  • Hair salon: as long as your hair looks good. And yes, that too at a campsite, thanks to Claire Lenoir. As an outdoor hairdresser, she offers a unique experience where you can enjoy her cutting services in an attractive place surrounded by nature.
  • Singing bowl sessions: familiar with the healing effect of singing bowls? Marieke and Gerdien let you travel to another world with these instruments.
  • Radio Tent: For two seasons now, Diderick and Jochem from radio Tent have been making the coolest and most enjoyable radio broadcasts. And that just at the campsite. Grab some headphones and tune in.
  • Foot reflexology, massages, yoga and more: sorry we have to end it, but there is so much more.

We have lovingly listed the events for this summer:

  • Artist Jolien Former will come to the campsite from August 4-8 to create the famous Pappenkost performance together with the children. From building the puppet show, making the puppets to creating a puppet show together. Kids experience all facets.
  • Singer-songwriters retreat – August 5 to 9
  • Ice bath & breathwork with Jeroen Rodenburg – different dates in July & August. Check the website for more information.
  • Steven de Peven – The big table football tournament – ​​July 22 to 25 & August 12 to 15
  • Manon, nomad pokes – Get a hand poke tattoo at the campsite between August 20 & 30
  • Well-Being retreat – Four days and 3 nights in a green oasis and in your own accommodation. Relax, slow down and enjoy – June 10 -13 or/and September 9 - 12
  • Mieke & Guusje from the garden: Good and honest food. Fresh, seasonal food, straight from the garden to your plate – different dates during the high season.
  • Criss Casper Gross – Plant-based Chef from Germany – Various dates in July & August.
