Hotel Unio Ibiza: a boho paradise (adults only)

Hotel Unio Ibiza (formerly Hotel Calador) under the name Cala Carbó is one of those places where pretty much, if not everything, goes right. No crowded pool decks or noisy hotel corridors, but that (semi-)authentic, bohemian Ibiza-vibe what we are all secretly looking for.

The hotel is hidden among the pine trees with spectacular views of the rocky island of Es Vedrà. Adults-only and therefore perfect for a weekend getaway for two, without the screaming of children around you. It's the kind of place where you wake up to the sound of the surf instead of an alarm clock.

The rooms are beautifully decorated with lots of white and natural materials – that typical Ibizan aesthetic, yes, but executed well. The Sea View Suites are especially worth a visit. The Tower Rooms are the most stunning: they feel like stepping into a fairytale tower.

It's been said many times, and we'll say it again: there's nothing better than a hotel where you don't have to go outside for dinner. And it's certainly true here: Restaurant Libélula is a gem. The restaurant focuses entirely on local, organic, and seasonal ingredients. Fresh fish from local fishermen, island-grown vegetables, and those Mediterranean herbs Ibiza is famous for. But it's all about the terrace overlooking the iconic Es Vedrà—considered by some to be one of the most magnetic places in the world. Whether you believe that or not, the view is phenomenal. Just like the paella, by the way—it's cliché, but it's truly good. The bread is freshly baked, and the olive oil comes from local farmers.

The pool is surrounded by beautiful gardens. The hotel is located near one of our favorite beaches: Cala Carbó, an often-overlooked beach with a wonderful chiringuito and crystal-clear water perfect for diving.

Tip: Definitely book a room with a sunset view. Those Ibiza sunsets from the terrace at Unio are pure magic – the sky turns orange, pink, and purple, while Es Vedrà forms a mysterious silhouette. And reserve a table at the restaurant for the evening: dine under the stars with the sound of the waves in the background.
