Coco Hotel

Coco Hotel

Really, the best neighborhood if you ask us: Vesterbro (for those in the know). Here you'll also find the cozy, sweet, fun, and friendly atmosphere. Coco HotelWith a wonderfully hidden spot that feels unassuming, they're selling themselves short. The subtle entrance—a shop—gives you no clue that a real hotel with a courtyard and a fantastic lounge is hidden here. eye catcher if you ask us: the wonderful art wall and in summer the lovely terrace outside in the patio.

Team Coco serves the most delicious breakfast on the counter, where you can simply help yourself to whatever you're craving. The rooms are bright, modern, and beautiful. This charming boutique hotel is highly recommended.

According to owner Christian Lytje, Coco Hotel was founded on the belief that good hospitality can be beautiful, affordable, and sustainable. "It's like a small Parisian-style hotel with a Copenhagen sense of space and time—modern and classic, vintage and new," says Lytje, who opened the hotel in 2020. The café of the 88-room hotel is also embraced by locals as a popular hangout, both day and night.

Hotel Hans

Hotel Hans

Norrøn Architects' first commercial hospitality interior project, Hotel Hans in Copenhagen, is one of the newest hotel additions and undoubtedly one of the most design-focused. Housed in a red-brick building from 1900 by architect Emil Blichfeldt, Hotel Hans combines the aesthetics of two contrasting neighborhoods: Nørrebro's creativity and Frederiksberg's tranquility. An Alpi Verdi green terrazzo grid connects the indoor and outdoor spaces, while floor-to-ceiling windows flood the hotel with natural light and views. Custom-made furniture by Norrøn is featured throughout the hotel, complemented by pieces from Fredericia Furniture, Carl Hansen & Søn, and Møbel. There are 91 rooms and suites, all featuring dark green ceilings and sage walls. Not as artistic and cozy as we normally prefer, but a sleek counterpoint and highly recommended. The same applies to restaurant Bolo.

25H Copenhagen Hotel

25H Copenhagen Hotel

Copenhagen has a new pearl: the well-known 25H settled there. The eagle has landed, say because 25H is always a very good (budget) tip. The 25H hotels are mainly known as young urban hotels – with slightly too hip quotes like “we never grow up” (we are less of a fan of that). However, we are very fond of the interior.

The bright colors, beautiful prints and beautiful furniture ensure that you will easily feel at home at 25h. The location also contributes to this as they are located in the heart of the city center.

The rooms are just as colorful and cheerful: you won't wake up grumpy. If you don't feel like leaving the house before dinner, you can grab a bite at Neni – the delicious concept we know from Amsterdam and which is also excellent here.

Book your entire trip in one place. Did you know that through Booking.com you can book not only accommodations, but also flights, attractions, rental cars, and airport taxis?

The canal house

The canal house

The canal house, a 260-year-old canalside hotel in Christianshavn (owned by the founders of Flying Tiger, fun fact) has had many guises. First it was an orphanage for boys, then the Royal Navy Hospice – all of which truly contribute to the atmosphere of the characterful building that now functions as a colorful apartment-hotel. The building (dating back to 1754) was given a new lease of life by design studio EEN and opened in 2021 as a cheerful haven in the spirit of classic Danish design from the 30s–60s. Each room is unique, thanks to the flea market sleuthing of the people at EEN, making it a far cry from a hotel at Kanalhuset. Its homey feel is made even more so by the lack of a reception desk and the daily communal dinners where both locals if hotel guests are welcome.

Hotel Sanders

Hotel Sanders

If we had to choose a favorite from this list, it would easily be Hotel Sanders can be.

So, Hotel Sanders, with 54 rooms, tucked away in an inconspicuous side street near Kongens Nytorv. You have to know, and that's precisely why it's all the more surprising in the beautiful, charming lobby. "Entering Sanders is like entering a theater," said the ballet dancer-turned turned-Hotelier Alexander Kølpin, who opened the hotel in 2017. “Guests are always in the spotlight, while the carefully curated interiors provide the elegant and refined backdrop for their experience.” Okay. It's beautiful, the service is excellent, and the price-quality ratio is also absolutely top-notch. Feels familiar? It's true: the designers chose to mix Dutch mid-century design with British colonial influences, with a touch of Paris. Although we also find it very NYC bistro-cool at Hotel Sanders…

Nimb Hotel

Nimb Hotel

A true classic, the Nimb Hotel in the famous Tivoli Gardens, one of the world's oldest amusement parks (founded in 1843). Classic, an unprecedented location and a sprawling 1.300 m² roof terrace with plunge pool (Go in the summer!) with the best views of the park (and there are attraction passes for all hotel guests, too). So, Nimb. The original, Moorish-inspired building by architect Knud Arne Petersen dates back to 1909 and has undergone several striking renovations: in 2007, Italian architect Matteo Thun restored the facade, and in 2017, Pei Cobb Freed & Partners added 21 new rooms. “Our ambition with Nimb was to design a timeless hotel, a space so original and quality-driven that it simply won’t fade,” says Renè Jasper, Nimb’s interior curator, about the interiors that combine antiques from Denmark, England, and Belgium with art from around the world. Also, make time in your schedule to spend a few hours in Nimb’s impressive spa, complete with a Moroccan hammam and steam room.

Hotel SP34

Hotel SP34

A lovely cozy and green hotel a stone's throw from Copenhagen's main square in the bohemian Latin Quarter, that is Sp34 Where you sleep in a hotel that exudes tranquility with natural tones: lots of wood, lots of greenery, lots of light. There are 118 rooms and suites, from intimate single rooms to penthouse suites with private balconies or a rooftop terrace. Formerly known as Hotel Fox, Brøchner Hotels (the group behind hotspots like Hotel Danmark and Hotel Astoria) joined the hotel and commissioned Danish architect Morten Hedegaard to fill the opulent interiors with local furniture and craftsmanship, such as rounded wooden arches and caramel-colored leather headboards, custom-made ceiling lamps by Rubn, and a reworking of Hans Wegner's Rope Chair design. Breakfast is also served in a green oasis. Enjoy a cocktail on the rooftop terrace, and of course, explore the city by bike on one of the bikes available for rent at the hotel.

In terms of restaurants, you're spoiled for choice, with a Scandinavian restaurant and a "greasy snack" burger restaurant. Something for everyone.

Villa CPH

Villa CPH

Villa CPH is a whole new ball game – Modern interior, bright rooms, and above all a beautiful interior.

The former post office was carefully renovated in 2019 and transformed into a contemporary, tranquil, and uncluttered hotel. The building, which became the 390-room Villa Copenhagen, was originally built in 1912 in the Neo-Baroque style; an interesting contrast with the understated, contemporary Danish interior. The rooms? Lots of brushed chrome, oak herringbone floors, and unique details like custom-made Louis Poulsen desk lamps and Finn Juhl armchairs. Universal Design Studio drew inspiration for the color palette from the paintings of Wilhelm Hammershøi. The result is "muddy gray-green, dark brick red, and ochre." Beautiful indeed.

Steel House

Steel House

Steelhouse is the perfect solution if you want to travel to Copenhagen on a tighter budget. Steelhouse offers private rooms as well as hostel rooms (so you'll share a room).

Steelhouse definitely has that deluxe hostel vibe, we have to say: hygienic, modern, and hip. It's also a perfect solution for families who still want to stay in the heart of the city.

Extra fun? At Stitch House there is a swimming pool (yes!) in the basement, as well as more entertainment such as a games room, ping-pong table, cinema.

Hornbaekhus

Hornbaekhus

A little bit of truancy is Hornbaekhus, because it is half an hour away from Copenhagen, but definitely worth it if you want a bit more peace and quiet and still want to visit the city.

From Hornbaekhus you can easily travel to all museums (hello Louisiana) and the city with a perfect train connection or by car. Apart from that, you sleep in a wonderfully traditional, fantastic building - Scandinavian style; red and white - you know the drill.

There is also a changing menu so you can enjoy dinner every evening. The menu is communicated weekly on the site and at check-in. All this at a long table with all the guests - so fun.

The rooms are cozy, colorful and no expense is spared on a kitschy flower here or there. In addition to this fantastic hotel with 51 rooms, the owners also have a beach hotel a little further away. Villa Strand as they call it. A somewhat smaller building with 15 rooms and located in the Danish dunes. Plenty to explore at hornbaekhus and co.

Wide Hotel Copenhagen

Wide Hotel Copenhagen

In the category 'original and exciting spot in the heart of Copenhagen': it WideHotel! A true gem you have to know about, otherwise you wouldn't know it ;-). The hotel is located on top of another hotel in the heart of Copenhagen and is delightfully contemporary and refreshingly original.

Manon Les Suites

Manon Les Suites

The beautiful hotel is also recommended Manon les Suites, part of the Guldensmeden hotel group. Slightly more expensive, very beautiful and very child-friendly. An important note here is that the hotel does its utmost to function completely sustainably. Behind the scenes of course, you hardly feel or see anything. And for the screens: the patio with swimming pool that almost all rooms overlook is fantastic!
