Beautiful and nice hotels in New York (not necessarily budget-proof, but wishlist material)

But for those who are willing to dig a little deeper into their pockets, or don't have to look so closely (lucky you) and have something left for a view that you are against, this list is intended. This pearl is also on the list budget-proof hotels, but then you have to be a bit lucky/plan far in advance. Because if you last minute a bedroom near the very nice Hoxton, in the very nice Williamsburg (that's a lot of dashes on the e, I know, but want to book something with superlatives and such), then there is little chance that you will actually sleep for next to nothing. We are fans of the Hoxton concept and we are fans of Williamsburg. Conclusion: we are fans of Hoxton Williamsburg.
Refinement and luxury in the middle of Midtown Manhattan, that's what we come to Lotte New York Palace. But we prefer to ring the bell at The Goldroom, the bar of this 5-star hotel. Chic and old-fashioned, but in the right way.
The Goldroom is a nice bar to have a cocktail or have a glass of wine from the very extensive wine menu. And yes, it's chic, but as you sip your drink, the space transports you back to the days of glamour.

Also with Soho The Grand It is the location that completes the picture. Well, actually that's the bar. After a day of strolling through the city, we prefer to end it with our favorite drink. So it goes without saying that the bar is the highlight of the hotel. Just very relaxed, cozy and with nice styling.

'Old world glamor meets modern sophistication', Sounds like something we would without a doubt book a one-way ticket to. The Grade II listed building of The Beekman was built in the 1880s, but it wasn't until 2016 when the hotel opened. The highlight of the hotel is undoubtedly the nine-storey atrium with glass ceiling. Because the hotel first functioned as a bank (aha, hence only 2016) the atrium was covered and that is why it is so well preserved today. Oh and the rooms are lovely too, and we haven't even mentioned the restaurants yet... For Friday afternoon drinks you should go to the bar and for a really good dinner we will send you straight to the Temple Court restaurant .
A golden oldie and well-known, we are talking about it Chelsea Hotels (also called the Chelsea Hotel of the Chelsea). No more reservations were being accepted for a long time, but finally we can look inside (and sleep!) again at the hotel where many celebrities have slept and lived.
We would talk about this for hours rock 'n' roll hotel and its rich history (yup, the hotel building has been around since 1884), but what is perhaps more important is what it looks like now. There are 155 rooms and suites with animal print chairs (Yes, we said rock 'n' roll), fireplaces, stained glass windows and wrought iron balconies where many a celebrity has looked out over West 23rd Street. Works of art by Sandro Chia and Alain hang in the stairwells. Oh and then that amazing lobby bar with chandeliers and the grand piano, and a cocktail menu full of hotel classics.
A hotel with history, that is Wythe Hotel too acidic. The hotel was built around 1900 to make barrels for the sugar mills that lined the East River. It later became a textile factory and since 2008 tourists have been coming there for a wonderful night's sleep.
Still nice, such a piece of history, but whether it is still so interesting today is not entirely unimportant. Big check, because this wonderful hotel in Williamsburg has a great view of Manhattan from the roof Buenos Aires. Cocktails with a view, please.
Ooh what a nice interior The Ludlow Hotel. A nice variety of leather, warm tones and wood, with even a fireplace, fills the hotel.
And here too, the higher the room, the better. Good, better, best and for the latter, book a room with a bath (plus a view over the city). The rooftop has a fantastic view.
Around the corner is Katz's for the very best and world-famous pastrami.
Ps: know that The Ludlow can sometimes – suddenly – be booked for next to nothing. No idea how it's possible, but we slept there for 100 dollars a night. Ha!
If the hotel is fine, then something else needs to be compensated to get the hotel from fine to good. And that's possible When in New York, can only be one thing: location, location and more location. Bee The Nolitan the location is fine. You can easily walk into Soho and the Lower East Side. Also nice: you can use the hotel bicycles here for free.
The Ned NoMad is located in The Johnston Building and a bit exclusive, because The Ned NoMad is part hotel and part members club. The brother of the London location and from the same owners as Soho House, The Ned Nomad is located on bustling Broadway.
With 167 bedrooms, the spaces range from rooms to suites and studio apartments. You can eat at the famous Cecconi's restaurant, with delicious homemade pasta and wood-fired pizzas.
We already said it: they are certainly not the most budget-friendly places you will find on this list. The Ritz-Carlton is no exception. The Ritz-Carlton is the luxury hotels and resorts group with more than 60 properties in more than 20 countries. And of course New York could not be left behind. There are two hotels from this group in the city, but we will talk about the one in the NoMad district. The hotel is a typical case with all the trimmings: with a José Andrés restaurant, a beautiful lobby, a... fine dining restaurant, rooms with large windows, an underground spa and the list goes on...
Luxury, more luxurious, most luxurious, that's exactly what we want. But sometimes it's also wonderful when a hotel feels a bit more friendly. You get that homely, yet luxurious feeling The Greenwich Hotel in Lower Manhattan. It almost feels like you are in Italy.
And back to luxury that feels like luxury: at Lowell Hotel you must be. On chic East 63rd Street, with Hermès as a neighbor, they had to: Lowell hotel received a three-year renovation and is back at it again. Even the Pembroke Room (this is where you need to go for one afternoon tea) got one make over. Everything is fresher and airier today.
In the heart of nature in the heart of Brooklyn, yes, that is perfectly possible. Where many hotels in New York provide that city feeling in the rooms, lobby and restaurants, it does 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge it a little bit different. The hotel brings nature inside with lots of light, greenery, plants and the most beautiful views. An all-out hotel with an eye for sustainability. Also nice: pets are more than welcome here.
