Green tips: just act sustainably, plant-based and eco (for and with your kids)
Bartje likes to be aware. Aware of the globe we walk on. That's why we always are on the look-out to conscious tips with which we give something back to the earth. Vega(n), plant based, sustainable, conscious, eco: an endless amount of terms, but where to start?!
Small children appear to be heavy consumers when it comes to diapers and nose cleaners and the washing machine is running ever since ever there are children working overtime. And with the arrival of children, the realization that we must be careful with the earth grew even more. Time for a selection of Bart's green tips:
Finish is committed to raising awareness of our water consumption. Pre-rinsing your plate under the tap is not necessary at all (although about 56,7% think so) and saves about 60 liters per wash, and altogether 4.3 trillion liters of water per year. The dishwasher tablets from Finish guarantee clean dishes, even without pre-rinsing. And to help us all use less water, we suggest turning it into a game with the kids. You can decide the reward yourself! Below are the rules of the game:
- Turn off the tap while you soap your hands or brush your teeth. You save 5-8 liters of water per day.
- Save your dishes and laundry for a full dishwasher and washing machine (don't cram it) instead of running small loads.
- Try to use the small button on the toilet as much as possible. The toilet uses 7-12 liters of water depending on which button you press.
- Hop into the shower because a bath uses more water than a 5-10 minute shower.
No, not for the kids of course, that coffee. But a cup of it The Coffee Boys ensures that you start/endure/get through the day better. Good coffee? Yes! The Coffee Boys go one step further with fully biodegradable coffee cups that you can even throw in your compost bin or with the organic waste. The cups are made from plants and they simply fit in your standard Nespresso machine. Because they are biodegradable, you can throw them on your compost heap after use (time for a new hobby with the kids?). Within six months, the cups will then turn into food for your plants and other greenery.
