In any case, highly recommended all year round: the small-scale Children's Theater De Toverknol in the cozy Kerkstraat, in the heart of Amsterdam. Here the cashier is also the actor, or could just be - it is so wonderfully small-scale. There is a different performance every six weeks and if you have something to celebrate – a children's birthday to be precise – then it is great fun. All children are allowed to dress up when they enter (this is always allowed, not just at a party): there is a large rack at the entrance with all kinds of fancy dress clothes. There is always something for everyone! Afterwards, the partygoers can occupy the front bench, and a laughing-screaming-roaring show follows (at the level of a 5-year-old, and that also makes moms and dads laugh, I promise) of about 3 minutes ( just right). Then the birthday boy or girl can go on stage (exciting) and he or she receives a present from the actor (super cool). Finally, if you have indicated this in advance, cake can be eaten and the party is complete. This way you will be completely entertained for 1,5 to 2 hours and there will be great fun for everyone. Ideal for kids between 4 and 6 years. You simply pay on the spot (everything is delicious no fuzz at De Toverknol), but you must make a reservation in advance: only one party can eat cake after the show and unfortunately more than two parties at one show would be too crazy. So be quick!
