Camping Koolgeitwolf in the lovely Abcoude
You can learn to camp, really. Of which: here at Barts Boekje we are the textbook example of non-campers (blegh, through the mud to the toilet and then also have to wait... No, thanks). But we persevered. Tried it many times. We looked for campsites that suited us (because it is an affordable way to live outside and if it is so much fun, we should be able to experience that too?!).
It must be said: nothing is more fun the brood seen running across the campsite. Or to enjoy music and the campfire in complete festival style together with friends and - even more fun - new friends who were strangers yesterday, like this summer at the campsite. Campsite Cabbage Goat Wolf. Why? Many many reasons. Here they all come.
If you can convince Barts Boekje to go camping sometime, you will come with it the new campsite Cabbage goat wolf a long way in Abcoude. Koolweitgolf, close to Amsterdam (which is an advantage in itself) hides in the nature of Abcoude. And it is precisely that nature that is - completely incomprehensibly - often forgotten. Because camping on an island? Not only does it sound fun, it is fun.
Here you will find Fort Island, a unique piece of unspoilt nature where the birds are still scared of humans. A unique location close to the big city. Koolgeitwolf reminds us of this again with sultry promises such as 'barefoot luxury camping'. Look, that's a treat for us. The press release reads as follows: “luxury in the form of adventure and the real 'outdoor living feeling', without sacrificing comfort and service”. Okay, that's where it starts to sound interesting.
This is what it looks like: a campsite where you put your tent for the night is very ready. Ha! No lugging around tents, mats, sleeping bags and no struggling with tent pegs and guy ropes. Relief! All tents have a nice bed, lighting so you don't have to bump your head countless times, very nice seats, cozy corners and all tents are all provided with a sauce. A sauce from artists with taste, to be precise. So cozy. Even more fun, when the sun disappears and makes way for nightfall, you turn on your own flashlight and (or) follow the romantic will-o'-the-wisps across the grounds. All this so that you can really enjoy old school stargazing tres romantique.
But it can be even better, according to the Cabbage Goat Wolf. The next morning, still in the throes of sleep, you are woken up by Mother Nature and the day can begin. To bore? Sometimes people need it, but not at the Koolgeitwolf house; there is plenty to do here. Original activities are organized every day. So you wake up with a yoga session in the morning and how about brewing your own fort beer in the brewery? Fancy a full day of touring? Or get on your bike to visit local farmers and discover gems around Abcoude. With a well-filled shopping bag you return to the fort where you prepare a delicious lunch in the wolf's kitchen. Fortunately, everything is allowed and nothing is necessary. You can also choose your own path and discover nature from a boat or by bike. And also (how ironic) Amsterdam is within visiting distance.
We are almost at the end, but not without mentioning the following: camping (or actually glamping) Koolgeitwolf consists of no fewer than six tents (2-4 people). each) with sufficient distance between each room.
