Legoland Billund in Denmark: A childhood dream come true
For some parents it's nostalgia, for others it's something the kids have been whining about for years: a visit LEGOLAND® in Denmark. In Billund it's all about LEGO. Here you will find the Legoland park, but also the Legoland Resort and Hotel. Everything for the little mini person. Fun guaranteed.
You can get there in no time (nice and easy with the little ones) and besides your completely rotten Lego-ing (is that a verb?) there is really so much more to do! Oh, and WOW PARK and Lalandia® are also just around the corner, to make it all extra festive.
We'll be honest: you're never too old to play with LEGO. And actually never too old for amusement parks. So if the two go hand in hand, the golden combination is made. Starting at the beginning is appropriate. Especially when there is so much to do in LEGOLAND®. LEGOLAND® is about a 7-hour drive from the Randstad. So a big tip is to take a good break along the way. For example, do this in Hamburg. This way the energy is well preserved.
In addition to the amazing Legoland park (more about that later), there is a wonderful hotel that provides every comfort and fun. Very nice during such a cozy family holiday. A large, filled toy box with Lego can be found in all rooms, so you can start building right away. The parkview rooms, as the name suggests, have a nice view over the park. This way, the kids can look forward to all the attractions and entertainment when they look outside. In addition to lots of LEGO, LEGOLAND also has roller coasters, a water park for water rats, a zoo and a climbing park. Plenty to do and see (we're fans, you can tell).
The park has entertainment for young and old. There is a double village for the little ones. Great if you get your child out of there. A – like a real – driver's license can be obtained for children from the age of 6. This way the kids learn about the traffic rules and can practice in real life. Everything, of course, in a Lego interior and exterior.
There are also plenty of roller coasters and wilder attractions for the daredevils among us. In addition to the more adventurous rides, there are also works of art to admire. So you see miniworld everything from Lego in miniature. Which takes you walking past the Taj Mahal, Copenhagen and even the Netherlands.
Just a little way from LEGOLAND you will find WOW PARK, a completely new play park with lots of adventure, climbing and clambering fun, all in the middle of the forest. The entire romp has been created with all due respect for nature, so it is a typical case of this best of both worlds. Nice fresh air and lots to do. In tree houses and on suspension bridges (up to a height of 14 meters), there are jumping nets hanging between the trees with gigantic balls to shoot at each other, there are also underground caves and a range of cable cars that take you from here to here and from tree to tree. to take.
There is certainly no need to starve in the park. There are several mini shops and restaurants within the park. Cozy and functional and something for everyone. There is even barista coffee - walk to the pirate coffee bar (after all, that makes many parents happy).
They also understand this at WOWpark, for example, so you can go to Madladen for your burgers, a pizza sandwich or a good potato salad (hey, you are in Denmark). But what we really like is that they have made the whole outdoor eating very accessible, also for the kids. There are campfires where you can roast marshmallows and make popcorn (the necessary ones). tools you can just borrow from them) or go all out and organize your own BBQ. At the Forest House you will find tables and BBQs that you can use, completely free of charge. Bring your own picnic and coal (you can also buy the latter in the park) and your outdoor experience will be complete.
Lalandia® Billund is the holiday park at LEGOLAND®. Holiday park, holiday park: aren't they always those uncomfortable houses that just don't have enough crockery and where you don't really get a holiday feeling? nopeSo not here! Sweet Nordic houses and an equally beautiful interior, that's what Lalandia® is all about. Most bungalows are detached, the kitchens are fully equipped for all those much-needed drinks after a day of romping and doing things and if you book well, you can book the houses with their own sauna and jacuzzi.
If you stay at one of the accommodations at LEGOLAND in Billund, you will receive the Be Happy Pass as a nice extra. With this pass you can do extra activities with the whole family and you will receive a discount on one of the attractions here and there (exclusively for pass holders).
During the day you can exhaust yourself nicely, because this way you have the evening to yourself. There is a gigantic water park with a tube track (the slope is no less than 11%, so that's a real blast). If you are a speed freak (or are the kids), then slide down the Speed Slide or try the funnel slide. If you prefer to take it a little easier, you can also swim past the underwater aquarium and watch the fish.
For those who prefer not to get wet, you can also go to Monky Tonky land, to the sports hall or unleash your energy on the mini golf course. When it's drinks time o'clock there are plenty of restaurants and bars that can help you with that.
