The invention of the century: glamping. And the new standard, if it were up to us. Why go old-school camping - lying in a draughty, self-pitched tent on a thin mattress - when you can also sleep in a sturdy tent on a normal bed? The camping pleasures, but not the burdens, that's what we're going for. Bye against sweaty tents, air mattresses and cooking on a gas stove. Here it's all about comfort and luxury. Since the search for a nice place to stay - that fully meets your glamping requirements - can be very difficult, we give you on a silver platter where you want (must!) be in 2026. These are the nicest glamping sites in Europe, which you should book quickly if you want to stroll around one of these beautiful places!

To kick off this list, we have no choice but to start with Petite Vallee. Our favorite hideaway in the French Dordogne, where we can completely relax and enjoy the beautiful, natural surroundings. Bird here, chicken wandering around there. Here you sleep in one of the two charming holiday homes or – for the adventurers – safari tents. Okay, small nuance: those tents are fully furnished, fully equipped and next to your tent you will even find your own private sanitary facilities! The glamping site is surrounded by oak forests and winding rivers, where you can do and discover a lot, while also getting plenty of me time have. Speaking of time, you have more than enough here. This way you don't have to cook yourself, at least two days a week. Owners Hans and Yasmin grow their own organic vegetables, which provide a delicious meal every week guest table menu is put on the table, and we also organize a pizza night! In the middle of the green heart of France, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, lies Domaine Bonneblond: a vast estate of 70 hectares where you sleep between the trees, eat at long tables and wake up in the morning with a view over the swimming lake. Dana and Eva, two young women, went all out for their dream here and built a place where you would rather never leave. Glamping, bell tents, tree houses, studios or a camping spot for your own tent or camper – here you choose how you spend your holiday.
Join the guest table or nestle in a hammock with a glass of local viognier. Kids build huts, dogs are allowed off the leash, and you don't really have to go anywhere. But if you do: flea markets, vineyards and forests are just around the corner.
When you say glamping, you should really think of Denmark immediately. We often don't, and that is a shame, because Scandinavia excels in peace, space, and comfort, and in recent years, some very nice glamping sites have been added in Denmark. Take BØGEBJERG Just outside Østbirk in East Jutland. A luxury glamping dome in the forest with space for four people, a sleeping loft where you can watch the stars at night, and a wood-burning stove for when it gets chilly outside. Everything is ready upon arrival, and in the morning, breakfast is waiting for you with rolls, organic eggs, and apple juice from a local orchard. There is a wilderness hot tub on the veranda, and from the dome, you can walk straight into the forest to the 112-meter-high hill Bøgebjerg, with views over the highest points of Denmark.
If you are looking for something more rustic, then Green Glamping Rønhave A lovely option on the Kær Halvø peninsula near Sønderborg. The tents are situated in an old apple orchard on the grounds of a manor farm dating back to 1315. Each tent has its own wooden terrace with a dining table and gas barbecue; inside, there is a double bed and lounge furniture, and behind a fence, you will find your own bathroom. On the grounds, there is a lifestyle shop, a small regional museum, and a butcher's shop where you can pick up tapas or something tasty for the grill.
If you are traveling with children, then DANCAMPS Trelde Næs Probably the smartest choice at Fredericia: here you book a luxury safari tent at a campsite that has everything else a family could wish for. With a water park with a slide, wellness facilities including a spa and Turkish bath, mini-golf, bouncy castles and trampolines, plus its own fenced dog forest if your four-legged friend is coming along. The best part, however, is what lies beyond the gate: from the campsite, you can walk straight to the Blue Flag beach of Trelde Næs, a nature reserve of forests, cliffs, and marshes that is included in the Danish Natural Canon.

In the north of Tuscany, near the city of Lucca and the seaside resort of Forte Dei Marmi, lies the yet undiscovered Garfagnana. This mountainous part of Tuscany has not yet been overrun by the high level of tourists and is therefore fairly quiet (don't tell anyone). That's exactly where those purebred pearls are hidden here and there... Like Rancone Lodges. It is a campsite, or well... You can hardly call it a campsite. It is a place in the middle of nature where there are various lodges, bell tents (round tents) and camping sites. The location is run by Ernst (has a renovation company), Susan (is an interior designer), Nicky (with an agricultural background) and Willem (the shepherd, how nice). The interior design was entirely done by interior designer Susan. Dutch yes. All. Expect elegant rural atmospheres with beautiful wooden tables, lamps and chairs, with black details here and there.

Bart wouldn't be Bart if we didn't make camping a luxurious affair, after all, life is already hard enough and let's be honest, we work hard enough for it. No one would sit in the mud for his (or her) fun, especially not with one or more children. It's very nice Brownscombe Cabin, a house in a quiet corner of the site, suitable for four people. It can accommodate a cot and dogs are welcome, provided they are well behaved. Here you will find a real kitchen with all the trimmings, an enormous copper bathtub to hide in when it all gets too much, and a (partially) covered terrace so you can sit outside in all weathers. Soft rugs are spread everywhere, and there is certainly enough space to play. A specially built-in bunk bed for the children, with a window on each bed to look outside and spot animals.
You can also roast marshmallows at a home-fired fire, there is a large zoo nearby and a petting zoo where lambs can be fed and ponies can be ridden. Perfect for offspring from the age of five: you are guaranteed to get rid of them only with (a lot of) effort (and some bribery). Be sure to bring your own games and other entertainment, as the huts themselves are really intended for relaxation (and quite boring). brownscombe.co.uk
We will remain in the French sphere for a while, or rather: in the French North. You will find it near Paris, about a two-hour drive Huttopia Senoches. Huttopia is a collection platform with no fewer than 42 (!) places to stay throughout France, all of which are equally special. At Senonches you can spend the night in a chalet, (safari) tent or log cabin. Whatever accommodation you choose, you can expect a nice (wooden) terrace with barbecue. This way you can enjoy the outdoors to the fullest. You know, in the peace and nature, nothing has to be done, everything is allowed mentality and with your head in the sun.

Coincidentally, are you looking for a small oasis in the Belgian Ardennes? Stop your search. You have to catch up Campsite Arkeo being! At the accessible, simply designed campsite you can enjoy an original, easy and free holiday. No very hip Amsterdam, and above all no I-have-to-look-completely-styled camping. Just saying Hello against friendly campers and your chill package! You sleep along the river - where the campsite is located - on the enormous camping field. Perfect for setting up your own tent or moving into the fully furnished tepees and Lotus Belle (just look it up) tents. Oh yes, there is plenty of entertainment (read: climbing, visiting caves, horse riding, trampoline) for the kids in the area. Open from April 1 to September 30.
Okay, it's time. Time to cross the sea, because the United Kingdom is calling! We take the train or boat (sustainable!) and settle down The Shepherd's Hide. There are two luxurious glamping sites in a fairytale setting retreats 'Teal' and 'Wigeon' by The Shepherd's Hide. If you go for Teal, you choose a wooded area with a view of the mill pond. Wigeon overlooks a young vineyard and wild reed fields. Very honest: we can't choose. Both really fun.
In the Peak District and close to the cute village of Bakewell (yes, Bakewell tart!), you will find Dale Farm & Campsite. This campsite – run by a small family – is the place to relax. From your own camping spot or from the bell tents (mix between English rusticity and Ibiza-like hippie vibes) you have a beautiful view of rolling landscapes and green crops. Since this campsite is also a farm - with buffalo and sheep in the meadow - you can buy all kinds of homemade goodies (hello scones!) at the campsite shop. Well worth a visit, that one Dale Farm & Campsite.

Let's go to the...Costa Blanca! Sun, sea and beach. And no, we don't stay in large hotels. We take it small, nice and intimate. You can do this here too glamping. Whether you have never stood on a surfboard before or you can surf very well, at Tiny Whale Surf Lodge – somewhere in the south of Portugal – you can have a wonderful (surfing) holiday.
