London in a Christmas atmosphere: a new list of bars, restaurants and hotels

Aviary London

So this is one of those winter pop-up bars and you want to go to this one. Here you can book your own igloo with a view of the London skyline between November and March. Unfortunately, you can only rent the igloo for 1,5 hours, so you can enjoy it very quickly and, above all, take a lot of photos.

New Road Hotel

The newly opened New Road Hotel is located in Whitechapel (East End of London), just below the popular Shoreditch district. The boutique hotel has 79 rooms and was built in a former textile factory. The rooms are small, but you will find everything you need. The beds are large and comfortable; two by two meters so you can go into dreamland in any direction you want. There is a vending machine on every floor where you can get free coffee, tea or hot chocolate (nice!), there is a small library and even a game room.
Adjacent to the open lobby you will find Mr. White's English Chophouse, a restaurant by star chef Marco Pierre White. Impressive; he was the first and youngest British chef to win three Michelin stars. White also trained Gordon Ramsay, among others, and is called 'the original rock star chef' (just Google it). The Chophouse menu combines English classics with a French one flair and is definitely recommended, even if you are not staying at the New Road Hotel.

Blanchette

A little Paris in London; welcome to Blanchette. This cute French bistro is located in the middle of the Soho district and has been a favorite with Londoners for years. At the back of the restaurant is the dinner area, at the front you will find the bar and an extra bar at the window. And that's where you actually want to sit. With a good glass of wine, French snacks and lots of cheese you can enjoy looking outside. Make sure to make a reservation, because it's always full.

The Sun Tavern

If you're near Covent Garden, give this a try Ads in. On Friday afternoon the perfect place for many Londoners to kick off the weekend. With a cocktail or a pint and real English bites like Sausages & Mash en Beer Battered Cod & Chips.

The Principal London Hotel

Next to Russell Square (in Bloomsbury) is this impressive building; The Principal London Hotel – once built as 'Hotel Russell' in 1898 and designed by Charles Fitzroy Doll. In two years time the entire hotel was renovated and last April it reopened, including a new name. The inside looks just as impressive as the outside, and we would like to take the entire interior home with us. In the cocktail bar 'Fitz's' (yes, named after the designer of the building) you imagine yourself in the roaring twenties and sip your drink under a giant disco ball. In addition to dinner, you can also have a very good breakfast at restaurant Neptune, after which you can go to the Palm Court in the afternoon for a real English high tea.

Pilgrims Pizza

Don't feel like a lot of fuss for an evening? Then drop by one of the Pizza Pilgrims locations. Preferably the one in Soho, because that is the place where it all started. Founded by two brothers, who traveled through Italy together for six weeks to learn all about pizzas. Between Reggio Di Calabria and Turin she learned all the secrets of Italian pizza (you can do the whole trip here to look at). Delicious pizzas with a good story. We love.
