M Pies is your new favorite deli on Javastraat in Amsterdam East

English pies, you know? One of those delicious savory tarts with a nice thick crust, in short: the best c All time? From now on, you can eat them at Emily's on Javastraat. Or take them home—that's allowed too.

Delicious. The kind of place you can always go to for an easy meal or a tasty snack to go with drinks. English pie, as we call it, you can now score on Javastraat in Amsterdam East. A real British one pie shop: we are fans.

Emily stands behind the counter and in the kitchen: British and hospitality slash foot-lover with heart and soul. In England is a foot Standard comfort food, but usually not particularly exciting. In the Netherlands? Hardly to be found. Those two facts combined were reason enough for Emily to roll up her sleeves and start her own business.

And what kind feet (!). Think of a firm, crispy hot water crust, but also flaky and filled with fillings that go beyond the classic British steak & ale. The menu includes the mushroom version, among others: Mushroom pie with caramelized leeks in a mustard-tarragon cream sauce or for the meat lover: Pork jam pie with chinata, roasted fennel, and a miso cherry jam. A favorite of ours: Bolo & 'nduja pie with Italian bolognese and Parmesan.
