Maroosh in Haarlem: fresh favorite for Mediterranean mezze
We've been there many times and we usually leave with a large pile of delicious snacks. Usually, because sometimes everything was sold out before we even stepped foot over the threshold of this cozy corner building. We are talking about Maroosh, the sweet little shop on the Botermarkt that opened its doors in August and ever since ever - rightly so - you can count on a line out the door. Maroosh's 'middle east mezze' is extremely popular and if you don't want to miss it, be sure to arrive on time. The friendly owner Gular makes all the small dishes herself with a good dose of love and you can taste it. She had been doing catering assignments for parties and celebrations for years, but when she was able to rent this beautiful corner building, the choice was quickly made. Time for your own business in this cozy spot in 023. Maroosh is a valuable addition to the tastiest list in Haarlem, because it has neighbors with a butcher's shop, greengrocer's shop and coffee bar. It remains for us to share the favorites from the counter, because choice stress is lurking. Also – especially – for the vegetarians among us, because many dishes are prepared without meat.
