When you go away for a week or weekend, it is so important to sleep in a nice place. To sleep well, to stay in bed a little longer, but also if you are constantly in the city and want to quickly freshen up. The more time you plan to spend in your hotel room, the more important it is that it really feels like getting away from it all. But if you are actually only going to sleep there, you may not want to spend too much money on your overnight stay. Look, we have something for that.

When you enter you know; this is it. Hotel The Dean, around the corner from St. Patrick's Cathedral, has that right chic but cool and urban vibe. The lobby immediately exudes all that coolness that you encounter everywhere in the city. In the nice rooms you will find many references to the city's broad music history, such as LPs, a record player and a Marshall amplifier. And then those beds, oh those beds. That what you need the morning after the night before. About that: the earplugs on the bedside table are there for a reason. During the weekend the entire store is transformed into a club and the bass continues to pound. Slept off your drunkenness? You have breakfast on the top floor Sophies. Pancakes, French toast, fresh juices and everything with a view over the city. Dean's younger sister The Devlin is also there. This cool kid on the block is just a little further from the center, but just as handsome and stylish.
Oh well hello you little surprise in the heart of Dublin! The Wren Urban Nest Hotel may look relatively small; it has great ideas in the field of environmentally friendly overnight accommodation. The 137 super smart, bright rooms are hidden in the middle of the city's historic center on the site of the former Andrew's Lane Theater (a stone's throw from Temple Bar and College Green). The 'Cosy' and 'Snug' rooms are small but super smart and have exactly what you would expect from a city hotel: very good beds, a nice bathroom, a separate toilet (thank you - we also want to go with a friend sometimes). Sustainability is important here. The hotel, dressed in light wood tones, gives it a good impression look & feel already a bit gone, but you also notice it in the paper straws, the organic wine list, the local products and the reuse of the towels. What you don't see is that the hotel uses 100 percent renewable electricity and captures most of the heat.
Tip: try to book one of the top rooms, then you also have an amazing view of the city through the large glass windows right next to your bed (and no view).
oh The Devlin, we already mentioned it, a young and fresh (and cool) hotel in one of the trendiest areas of Dublin: Ranelagh. There is a cinema on site, a stylish rooftop restaurant and a cocktail bar on the ground floor. What more could a city tripper want, nun?
The Devlin is located in Ranelagh, just south of Dublin city centre. Bars, pubs and restaurants just around the corner; top! Also great are the two tram stops within a five-minute walk, putting Dublin city centre, shopping streets and cultural attractions just minutes away.
