A good start… Is the breakfast buffet of the Pine House restaurant in Strandhotel Cadzand, Zeeuws-Vlaanderen

Do you remember our story about Beach hotel Cadzand-Bad yet? Ibiza on the North Sea? The restaurants (three of them, plus a bar), and the breakfast restaurant that this piece of writing is about, are all reasons in themselves to go, even if you don't stay overnight (although we would recommend that you do so. do, but that's besides the point). The best of, and an ode to, Zeeland. And nothing is as important as the most important meal of the day: breakfast. Hence some due attention Pine House restaurant, for a bullshit-free and delicious start to the day. Promise.

We admit: we normally don't like breakfast buffets... We prefer to order 1 to 1 and get exactly what we like, instead of a little bit of everything. But we were told - emphatically - about the Pine House restaurant in Strandhotel Cadzand that we really had to go there, and that the breakfast buffet was really very tasty and very special. Okay okay, let's give it a try (spoiler alert: they were right!).

Anyway, the place is beautiful. If your eyes are still a little closed (because early, because you have breakfast), you will certainly wake up quickly when you see the bright spot on the water. On to the buffet: for €37,50 you can enjoy Strandhotel's breakfast buffet. Everything local, everything fresh and lots of goodies from our own bakery.

The pastry chef underneath the restaurant (you can actually see this for yourself if you choose a table at the front left) makes a lot of delicious things. Zeeland boluses of course, the classic (not taking it is not an option) but also almond croissants and crispy fresh coffee rolls.
In addition, the breakfast buffet is simply too extensive to mention. Think of a large and extensive cheese range (of course everything from the region) but also fresh fruit, good juices and delicious eggs.
A negative? Well, okay, if we really have to mention something, it is that the coffee comes from a machine. Doesn't quite fit in with a place like this: fresh coffee would complete the picture, delicious from a beautiful and good Italian espresso sample. But hey, if that's all… Knees Ear.

O! And kids up to 5 years old eat for free. That saves a sip on a Zeeland beer.
