Pulitzer Amsterdam may well have the best terraces in the city

During the summer, we can't help but put our hidden Amsterdam favorite in the spotlight: the Pulitzer GardenThe (enormous, beautiful!) courtyard of the equally stunning Pulitzer Hotel on Amsterdam's canals is both picturesque and serene. An idyllic hideaway with a quintessential Amsterdam character and decor to match. Sunny, with exceptionally good food and drinks, and—literally—exactly the urban escape you've been looking for. Plop down here (which you will, of course, do as soon as possible) and find yourself nestled among the beautiful, centuries-old canal houses, toasting with a view of the Westertoren (Wester Tower).

And Pulitzer Amsterdam has even more terracesFact: Pulitzer Amsterdam may well have the finest terraces in the city.

Let's start with the Pulitzer Garden. One of the great advantages? The Pulitzer's courtyard is simply Very Very BigAnd big means: space. Room. Sun. But that's certainly not all… No, no, we wouldn't be so enthusiastic if the many light dishes weren't worth writing home about (because they are), and if the wine list weren't spot on (it is: dear Pulitzer, you had us at Sancerre by the glass).

Anyway, it's the perfect place for lunch, to finally catch up, or just to relax. The lunch menu offers a wide variety of delicious options: a Mediterranean al fresco lunch or dinner with dishes like eggplant parmigiana and spaghetti with langoustine.

New is the extensive breakfast menu: start your day in peace. With your first coffee or a fresh slow juice of the day, you can enjoy freshly baked pastries, bagels, and your favorite egg dishes. Pulitzer Garden is open every day from 09am to 00pm.

The terraces of Jansz

We told you: there's more. Because as far as we're concerned, Pulitzer Amsterdam's accompanying Restaurant Jansz can stay forever. In the summer, you'll always find us in the garden, known as the Rosé Garden, where a specially curated menu awaits, featuring rosé wines and seasonal dishes served al fresco. Think: lavender in the air, pastel hues all around, and a table laden with summer delicacies.Rosé all day, every day, The garden is open daily for lunch and dinner. It's also a pleasant place to relax outside. On the sunny terraces along Keizersgracht and in the bustling Reestraat, you can relax in one of the comfortable seats. With a good glass of wine, a refreshing cocktail, and refined seasonal snacks, the city feels like a vacation.

Staying longer? You'll want to, because all the Pulitzer hotel rooms are as colorful as candy wrappers, with ochre-yellow velvet (velour!), pink curtains (pink curtains!), and marble bathrooms (marble!). Be sure to wander around the hotel: you'll also find Pulitzer's Bar, a fantastic cocktail bar with the grandeur of uptown New York.

From Jansz and Pulitzer's Bar you can walk to the hotel through the interior. That's nice because that way you first pass the beautiful toilets (did you know that you can judge a location very well by the quality of the toilets? Cloth towels? Soap and lotion from A-brands? Space to turn around and a long mirror to check the back of your skirt? Top tent) and then end up in the gigantic inner garden. Anyway: Pulitzer for the win.
