California in Amsterdam: then you must have Restaurant Celia

Overpriced fish tacos, In-N-Out Burger on repeat and an iced latte on the go as you cruise past the surfers in your car. california dreaming'. O how we love California, where the sun always shines, the ocean is nearby, and the food is all about freshness, innovation, and a little undeniable luxury. Phew, give us a portion of that.

Look, good news. That is possible in the Netherlands, Amsterdam though. California in Amsterdam? Then you have to Restaurant Celia at the Kimpton de Witt hotel does. Go Celia, go new home office (but not at home) slash all day hang-out.

From Kimpton de Witt we were already fans and even more so Celia. You can go there all day long, but if we have to choose, we will work there for a few hours first in combination with the Celia brunch. Because that is spot on. Of Taco Tuesday, that's also an outing. Or just on a Thursday evening to start the early weekend well. And we prefer to come with a whole bunch (because super nice for large groups). Or.. Ok, you get the point. There's never a bad time to join Celia.

Celia Bottomless Brunch

Celia Bottomless Brunch

Celia brings a touch of the golden state to the heart of Amsterdam. A taste of our heart, a restaurant of our heart. And we could start talking about the facts of the restaurant now, but we'd much rather get straight to the point. Bottoms up, brunch lovers. Because Celia scores with the Bottomless Brunch. For 47,50 euros you can book unlimited prosecco, Mimosas and Bloody Marys for 1,5 hours and choose two dishes from the menu. How about a Chicken Katsu Burger with Chicken Katsu (duh!), Coleslaw, Mustard and Fries or the very best New York Style Cheesecake with Cranberry and Mandarin.

What smells more like the weekend than an extensive Bottomless Brunch? Right. Absolutely nothing. And so we happily join the Brunch at Celia for the ultimate weekend feeling. Okay, and a little bit for the feeling of being in California: because that is the kitchen and the vibe during Brunch at Celia in full. On Saturday and Sunday from 12.00:60 you can take a seat in the beautiful, simplistic XNUMX's design of Celia (love love love) where the fresh citrus colors – with the help of a little California dreaming – takes you to the other side of the ocean for a moment.

What's on the menu

What's on the menu

Brunch is fine, but what if we want to sit down a bit later? What's on the menu then? We know! Celia's menu contains a nice range of fresh dishes - from sweet to savoury - that are all just a little bit more exciting than you might be used to. How about a Smoked Mushroom Taco? A taco made from blue corn tortillas, filled with smoked mushrooms and finished with a creamy poblano sauce (poblano crema) and a topping of queso fresco, a fresh Mexican cheese. Or ravioli filled with pumpkin and enoki mushrooms, served with spicy chilli crumbs. Oe and Grilled cabbage, served with miso and a spicy Aji Amarillo sauce. Hard to choose? The set menu is your answer.

And yes, kids can come along with confidence: there are a number of specially composed dishes for them.

Taco Tuesday

Taco Tuesday

On Tuesdays you don't have to think about what to cook, because you're going out to eat. Where? We've also thought of that for you here, because on Tuesdays it's Taco Tuesday at Celia and then you can eat really delicious tacos for a very reasonable price. Tacos with pulled pork, tacos with ceviche (absolute favorite - so fresh, sharp from the lime and creamy from the avocado) and tacos with smoked mushroom for our vegetarian friends. The service is super friendly, they come and sit with you and know exactly which wine to order with which taco. Although of course everyone knows that it is best to order tequila with the tacos. Cocktail time! Pair it up with two cocktails and two tacos for the reasonable price of 22 euros.

About Celia

About Celia

As said: in Celia restaurant you feel like you're in America. The good part. Not the America as in fast food America, but America as in California. A sunny sea breeze through the center of Amsterdam, so to speak. No, not that Dutch sea breeze , wind force 5, no, a comfortable breeze, like that relaxed breeze. The design is by Jacu Strauss (who also did the entire and beautiful renovation of the Pulitzer hotel) and the team of Lore Group, who also Super Lyan (the bar of the Kimpton de Witt) have done a great job here at Celia. Simplicity is key. Cozy, atmospheric, California in the 60's and 70's.

Fresh and cheerful colors, yellow sofas, white and black tiles on the walls, handsome bar stools, a striking number of nice lamps and all with the warm colors of the wooden floor and details.

Bringing everyone and everything? Great idea. For groups, Celia serves a three-course menu of your choice. These seasonal menus from Celia consist of market-oriented, fresh ingredients, prepared and served in a relaxed style. Fresh flowers on the table, glittering balloons, personalized menus and a cake made by our own pastry chef can be arranged.

Nice to know: Celia is from the same owners of the restaurant Jansz en Pulitzer We also think Amsterdam is a great place in the city.
