June 19 to 21: Save the Date for the Restaurant Festival of the year
Is it summer yet?! BECAUSE Guess who's back! Restaurant festival Bite of Amsterdam is back. From June 19 to 21, the Amstelpark in Amsterdam will be transformed into the tastiest spot in the city.
During Bite of Amsterdam, aka the most fun restaurant festival of the year, you stroll from pavilion to pavilion, with a fork in one hand and a good glass in the other. For three days, the best top chefs, favorite restaurants, and innovative tastemakers (yes, you see the trends here!) take over the Amstelpark. And the lineup is a feast for the eyes, featuring dishes from iconic chefs such as Sebastiano Guglielmucci (Roux), Takis Panagakis (Elea), and Ori Geller (Nela).
Op Bite of Amsterdam dishes can be ordered starting from just 7,50 euros, ka-ching
There is one maar About this story: Bite of Amsterdam is not a typical food festival, and that is a positive thing.
Those who want to see top Dutch chefs at work up close can book a spot at one of the two Chef's Tables. We'll drop a few names to get you started: at the Michelin Chef's Table, Tim Golsteijn (Bougainville*) and André Gerrits ('t Amsterdammertje*) serve their iconic dishes. The Spotlight Chef's Table is just as cool; this is the stage for new names, up-and-coming talent, and chefs who are more than worth discovering. Here, for instance, Bar Rouge serves the Tuna Experience, where the tuna goes straight from the bone onto your plate.
Bisous opens the largest cocktail terrace in collaboration with Grey Goose and St-Germain.
So, plenty to do! Is making choices not your strong suit? Then join the Bite Amusetour at eight leading restaurants featuring refined amuse-bouches and perfectly paired wines. You don't want to miss this.
Eager to learn and discover? Attend free workshops and masterclasses, and who knows, one day you might be standing behind that Chef's Table. All jokes aside: join a cheesecake tasting, fold dumplings, or learn to shake the best espresso martini in the Netherlands at Vascobelo. The Boretti Barbecue Cooking School is firing up the coals this year to teach various barbecue techniques. At Little Bite Kids also get the chance to stand in the kitchen. Something about learning young…
There is also a special festival map for vegetarians, on which all restaurants with vegetarian dishes are marked.
For those already feeling hungry: tickets are live and you can score them now for 19,50 euros, and with the flexible ticket (24,95 euros) you choose when to go. Bite is open from Friday afternoon to Sunday evening and every day has its own atmosphere. But, every day is fun. Flip's tip? Go on an empty stomach, bring your best friends, and taste your way through the entire weekend.
