Staycation Netherlands: Stadsherberg Boutique hotel Alphen
As you know we are always looking for nice places to stay at home and abroad. And now we have found a nice address in our beloved country for a weekend away with our friend/partner (not to mention, ha!). And as a bonus: the kids are also very welcome! The name? City inn Boutique hotel Alphen. Staycation deluxe it is!
The boutique hotel is located in the center of Alphen and is housed in a former headmaster's house from 1895. That's right: the building was long ago the home of the headmaster of a primary school. Centuries later, owners Niels and Lauren transformed this building into a modern inn with a luxurious edge. A meeting place for young and old to relax and unwind and explore the city. In addition to staying overnight, you can also have a delicious breakfast/lunch/dinner here. And even more fun: they have themed drinks here on Fridays and Sundays! The accommodation is easily accessible by car.
Inside it is decorated with light and soft colors, which makes the hotel one of a kind cozy feel gets. You would almost say it is real pinterest-proof hotel (and we secretly do that too, ha!). Even though you are away from home, this hotel feels like coming home.
The Stadsherberg has no fewer than eleven rooms that set the tone – all luxury and comfort. Each room has one kingsize bed from Swiss Sense, a then bathroom with walk-in shower, sink and toilet. The romantic comfort room is a luxurious double room with a dormer window (how cool is that!), old wooden beamed ceilings and a then bathroom on the second floor. The spacious deluxe room is a double room with large windows at the back of the building on the ground floor or on the first floor on the street side. Would you like a room with a roof terrace? Say no more because that is of course also possible. The family room is a room for the family (max 4 people). Hidden in an alcove you will find a box bed for two kids. How nice! Furthermore, this room has all the amenities of the spacious deluxe room.
