The kitchen is run by Nathan Eades, who has been chef there since the end of 2017. He was immediately hooked on The Wild Rabbit and not just because of its beautiful appearance. In the kitchen they cook seasonally with local products, yes they do that in many places these days, but just like that a number of Dutch restaurants, they have their own garden here where they grow some of their products. This is in the neighboring village of Daylesford where The Rabbit Inn also has a number of cottages to stay in. The food is really top-notch, but a drink at the bar is also recommended. You can just start talking to one of the locals who cannot be ignored, fine dining or not. Locals who might as well have stepped out of a picture book: we couldn't get rid of (nor did we want to) a tall retired Brit dressed entirely in tartan, including a cap and a lazy hunting dog at his feet. Anyway. The Wild Rabbit and everything within the stone walls of the business is the essence of the Cotswolds: rich, well-mannered, cozy and incredibly delicious. Beer and fireplace included.

In addition to the rooms in the Inn, there is also the option to sleep in a cottage. Recently in two places, because in addition to the own vegetable garden in Daylesford where the cottages have been given a shop name, you can now also visit Kingham itself, just a five-minute walk away. The cottages are an excellent idea if you take the kids on a trip or if you want to be less dependent on the local catering industry. In Daylesford you even get a welcome package from the organic store and you can take a class at the Bamford Wellness Spa to relax even more. You are a little further away from The Wild Rabbit Inn itself, but it is still only five minutes by car and you can reach your cottage within half an hour by walking through the beautiful surroundings.
