Just opened: Italian trattoria Volare in Amsterdam-West
And de Caravan goes on... Well, sort of speaking Then: the owners behind that relatively new business (Karavaan) in Amsterdam-West (because it was only open for a year and then closed for far too long) has a brother (or sisters, whatever you want): an accessible Italian trattoria this time. The name? This one is again nice and easy to remember: Flying. Or are we the only ones who immediately use Hazes loudly with that title? Certainly not.
Catering entrepreneurs Daan Bonsen and Arne de Wit (the men behind Karavaan, Amsterdam, so that it is clear) - open their Volare in that well-known large corner building with a huge terrace on the Admiraal de Ruyterweg in Amsterdam-West (where there used to be a Mexican restaurant). Frida sat, and before that Partisan and before that Fa. Speijkervet). We approve. And good news comes in plural this time: the restaurant also has its own aperitivo bar: Bombolonis.
Now we immediately fell in love with the looks of Volare: slightly retro and lots of soft, cuddly colors like the sand and blue that you see on the Amalfi coast when you just look into the sun. Hey, great, just what we're looking for Volare.
Italian trattoria Volare will be open daily from September 8, 2021. Pizza from the brick oven, antipasti or homemade pasta family style (as usual at a trattoria) and a bottle of good wine. Or three. The kitchen is led by two Italian chefs from Cremona & Thiene. They brought recipes from their home country, such as grilled octopus and T-bone steak, straight from the fire. Also the classics, such as arancini en fried squid are on the aperitivo menu.
Bonus points for the covered patio. Here too, if Daan and Arne have their way, the (terrace) tables will quickly fill up with various focaccias, egg dishes, quiches, fresh salads, a selection of Italian hams, fresh juices and cocktails.
Bomboloni's opens from Thursday to Saturday from four o'clock until late at night. The bar is located in a separate room, separate from the Volare restaurant. High tables, bar areas and a lounge here – the way you want it right after work and where, if possible, you don't leave until you really have to.
