Brand new on the edge of De Hoge Veluwe: holiday home De Merel
And by brand new we really mean BRAND new. Holiday home de Merel near Otterlo, Gelderland, is a real one at just a few weeks old new born among Dutch holiday homes. For everyone who is ready for peace, relaxation, space (read: 1800 m2 of private forest plot - hallowhey) and conviviality - because that is also relaxation - in your own country, is the right place for you the Merel.
The handsome wooden house has three bedrooms plus a sofa bed, a spacious bathroom and two toilets. A great place to stay with a large family, 2 smaller families or with friends. There is also an open kitchen with gas stove, refrigerator, freezer, oven, microwave, kettle, coffee maker and last but not least Certainly not least a dishwasher. Still nice if you are with 7 people.
Sounds good, but it only really becomes something when we talk about the look & feel the wood, the warm colours, the various seating areas and the wood-burning stove immediately provide a pleasant, relaxed vibe and we haven't even mentioned the terrace yet. You will find more of those types of seating areas there. Can you see yourself lying on the lounge sofa or relax on the Lanterfant relaxation chairs?
But actually you just want to be in the garden in this place all the time. Remember: 1800 m2? In the garden you will find a hammock with a view of the horse pasture (bring your own horse is an option), a BBQ, a pizza oven, an outdoor dining area and a fire pit (you'll need to chop your own wood with the axe provided). The kids can also have fun building endless huts and swinging in the swing bench.
Would you like to go a little deeper? bush bush up for a walk or cycle route? Good news because you can easily roll, walk or cycle Hoge Veluwe National Park in, where you can find, among other things, the local big oven (red deer, wild boar, mouflon and roe deer). It too Kröller-Möller Museum is around the corner and there are cozy terraces within walking distance of the house.
And for those who, despite all this, still long for the bustle of the city: Arnhem, for which we of course also have one list of nice places is a 20 minute drive.
