Travelin': The best shoes, boots and sneakers for a walk
Call it a myth, a hyping or really useful: taking 10.000 steps a day. The lockdown gave rise to the well-known saying: 10.000 steps a day keeps the doctor away. And while taking so many steps may be a bit of an exaggeration, we do a lot of walking these days. To get to our destination, for the or because we want to enjoy nature. But once we do walk, we want to do so as comfortably, efficiently and stylishly as possible. Travelin' ticks all the boxes. Travelin' shoes, boots and sneakers are really good for a tough hike or long walk.
Need inspiration for where to go? Think of Scheldeland in Belgium. A top place to walk in nature and past ancient castles.
It all happened during a walk (of course) on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Two colleagues from the industry wondered what makes a good shoe, a good shoe. Of course, a walking shoe has to be comfortable, but also functional and very stylish. But the most important thing is that you can move around in it comfortably. A shoe has to give that extra bit of support for an adventure, because let's be honest: sometimes Netflix sounds a little better than a walk outside in the cold. Especially when the days get shorter, but certainly also when the sun shows itself every now and then, we have to go out. Into the lanes and on the paths! Together with our Travelin' Outdoor gears.
And in 2013, the shoe that men, women, and actually everyone has been waiting for, was created.
And no, not a walking shoe that you find in some diehard hikers see (read: hiking boots that look more like clogs). But Travelin' can best be described as functional fashion. And because there is indeed a difference between a walk around the city and a brisk walk on the beach, the collection is divided into a number of categories. For example, there is the Outdoor and Country Technical range for rougher landscapes, the Citytrip and Country range for the urban setting and Nautical collection with classic boat shoes. From the classics – with red laces and lace hooks to cool high-tech walkers.
But guess who's back: yes, the walking sandal. You can now even style it with socks again. There are different color schemes, shaft heights and materials. And we can't wait for winter. Because the winter collection is lined with real sheep's wool and equipped with a waterproof membrane. And what we are secretly also fans of is the Home range full of cozy warm slippers. Cold and wet feet are no longer an excuse from now on. So buy those beautiful walkers. We are fans in any case!
Fun fact about Travelin': Today, every shoe is still designed in the Netherlands and produced in Europe. We like, we like a lot!
