The ALDI Pieper Paradise is here! (or well, at Utrecht CS that is…)

Give us a traditional Dutch potato, add a cool pop-up, promise us some budget-friendly (very tasty) food, and add a dash of social media goodness to it, and we're sold. That easy? Yup. Are you with us? Then know that Pieper Paradise is here! VFrom October 13 to 23, you can join the queue at Utrecht Central Station (or walk straight back in, with a pager in your pocket, that's fine too) at the Beeper Paradise, a temporary restaurant experience at Utrecht Central Station with surprising potato dishes that you might have seen via media such as TikTok and Instagram (just pay attention: so many fun, new potato dishes via these media). So terribly hip, in a good way, and that for an ALDI price. We told you we were sold, didn't we?

To be fair, after all the complicated fusion en shared dining violence that has been flying around our ears in recent years, we have to admit that we are really looking forward to a traditional Dutch, solid potato dish. Fries. Mashed potatoes. Everything. Throw it at us. Not literally of course, but we are happy to throw this information around because the potato really deserves a podium. We think so. ALDI thinks so. Hear hear.

And the majority of the Netherlands thinks so. Did you know that on average Eating 81 kilos of potatoes per person? That's easily two ALDI shopping carts full. Super Dutch, completely vegan and yet in a corner of doom - a shame! 'The Dutch potato is an incredibly beautiful product. It is nutritious, sustainable, available all year round and incredibly versatile', says Gys de Jong of ALDI.

And so the Pieper pop-up is here.

Visitors to the pop-up can enjoy the tastiest social trending taste potato recipes for a typical ALDI price. For €0,99 (!) you already have a trio of potatoes: the 15 Hour Potato with rosemary mayonnaise, the Crispy Smashed Potato with Cabbage Dip and ALDI's own Hutsbal (or: hutspot bitterbal) with apple-pear sauce with caramelized onion.

And you can – after all, you are either a social media pop-up or you are not – on the photo with a French fry throne, bathing in a bath full of apples and pears and in a neonilluminated shopping cart. Perfect waiting material during your transfer at Utrecht Central or when you are looking for a (fall holiday) outing.
