Utrecht wine bar/restaurant Bar Bet aan 't Wed

At the well-known Wed, right under the Dom in Utrecht, you will find Bar Bet. A trendy wine bar with an uncomplicated atmosphere and a surprisingly good kitchen. No stiff affair, but a place where you can just as easily walk in for a spontaneous glass of orange wine as for an evening of dining with friends. Plop down on the terrace or take a seat in the warm, stylish interior inside.

The anticipation starts when you browse through the menu of Bar Bet (online). Small dishes change regularly, so there is always a reason to come back.

Bar Bet opened its doors in early 2024, and with its handsome red flowerpot interior, you won't want to leave. From four o'clock, you can start your evening off right with snacks, and from five o'clock, the "serious" dishes take the spotlight.

At Bar Bet, the large bar is the heart of the business. Dishes come from upstairs (literally, because that's where the kitchen is) so there's no cheating. You can also sit at the bar, but little bird told us: then you have to be early, because when it's full, it's full.

On the menu? Small dishes to share. Think: monkfish, radicchio with pecorino and carrot, and (our personal favorite) pointed cabbage. Please Bar Bet, never take it off the menu.
