A satisfied bridal couple once said: “Malou Baumhauer is everything you hope for in a photographer; professional, friendly, talented, fun and faster than light.” And we don't think a word of it was a lie. Her work is cinematic (no static stuff, but in the moment) and artistic (gotta love her creative point of view) with a touch of nostalgia. Because let's be honest, there is nothing more beautiful than making memories and capturing them so that you can cherish them forever? Something about time flies and such.
A real sucker for romance is Malou von Baumhauer. I love long, festively laid tables where there are emotional discussions. Or hilly landscapes where the sun sinks behind the vineyards while the bridal couple toast. And a grandfather who proudly gives a wink during an intimate ceremony. You can say that Malou's life sometimes feels like a big rom-com. Does she sometimes shed a tear herself? Duhhhh! It is her job to capture all those small film moments as purely as possible. Spoiler alert: yes, she manages to catch them perfectly every time! She always takes family dynamics into account, anticipates (faster than light) poignant moments and knows exactly when to provide guidance or to fade into the background.
Whatever Malou likes; bridal couples - and especially the brides - with a sense of style and styling. Short fancy wedding dresses, big bows, explosive sleeves and dramatic veils; all the way editorial, so to speak. Exactly yes, a nice, quirky modern anti-bride. Bride and grooms who are not afraid to break the rules of a traditional wedding day and put their own unique twist on their big day. A bit of chafing against tradition and occasionally going over the top is refreshing.
She can do beautiful post-processing like no other, but you always get the real deal. Malou captures you as you are: she's happy to remove a small pimple here or there, but she won't start with getting rid of double chins and giving you half a facelift. You are just the way you are and that is what makes you so much fun. Hear, hear! It will certainly not surprise you that her favorite of favorites and also guilty pleasure is shooting analogue images. She is crazy about the grain and noise in analogue images. The imperfect perfect, but especially the nostalgia, romance and dreamy feeling that analogue images bring. Just the charming process from loading the roll to developing in the photo lab; analog photography is a love story in itself. Don't worry about that Insta feed, because Malou also supplies analogue images digitally. She is a woman after our own hearts!
