The Wever Lodge in Otterlo, Veluwe

In the heart of the Veluwe, half hidden between the trees and surrounded by one of the most beautiful nature reserves in the Netherlands, is the Weaver Lodge. A beautiful hotel, small and nice with its own bistro. The Veluwe is actually special enough in itself, but De Wever Lodge goes one step further. Everything here revolves around the love of nature (you are really in the middle of it) and it is craftsmanship and quality that count. It seems a bit as if time has stood still: press pause and only do what you want.

There are 29 rooms in the forest and on the heath at the Wever Lodge. Small enough to escape the crowds, but also spacious enough for a lovely getaway with the whole family. Or your best friends or dearest colleagues. There are also eight spaces available for strategy sessions, right in the middle of the forest. While the Wever Lodge may be completely modern, the villa itself has existed as Pension de Wever since 1934. Everything has been restored to its former glory down to the last detail (you know the drill: an atmosphere of yesteryear, but with contemporary luxury) and everyone is more than welcome to enjoy. The nature, the pure and local food from the bistro, and above all the most beautiful view – no matter what season you visit.

Wever Lodge also has two truly magnificent cottages: Cottage Geluk and Cottage Auping. Perfect for you and your little group, with a private patio overlooking the surrounding countryside and a Weltevree stove for cozying up by the fire late into the night. Located in Wever Lodge's own woodland across the road, it features a 1937 house (sleeps 16), two forest cabins (sleeps 8), a brand-new, renovated bakehouse for 4, and a campervan.

The eye wants something too

All the green and beautiful things from the area have also been brought indoors. Colors and materials determine the atmosphere: soft, no hysteria, completely zen and pure. The beautiful dark green marble is a personal favorite. The beds are the stuff of dreams, literally. Wonderfully spacious, from Dutch soil and perfect for sleeping in. Also nice to know: sand from the area was used for the plasterwork of the walls.

Keffers & Kroost

'Yes, very much' was the answer to the question whether the kids could come along. There is nothing more fun than having a nice chat with the whole family, being outside and eating and having drinks together at the Bistro. Or even more fun: a nice game of pétanque. Dogs are welcome on the terrace, but unfortunately for them it is only there and no further.
