Hotel de Sterrenberg in Otterlo, Veluwe

It is a good place to stay Hotel de Sterrenberg on the Veluwe, perhaps because it adults only is. I love kids (especially our own), but sometimes it's nice to spend a holiday without screaming and splashing around. Here you are assured that you will not hear anything about it. At least, not from small children - of course we are not responsible for other people's behavior and the wellness here is almost worth screaming, so nice and clever. That mix of wellness and nature remains a favorite: they enhance the relaxing feeling. What can you expect from the wellness? Well, a spacious Finnish sauna, Turkish steam bath, wellness bath, fitness and swimming pool. The swimming pool is heated to 29 degrees and the relaxation pool to 31 degrees. Say hello to wrinkled hands and feet, and it will be more than worth it.

We are now getting ahead of ourselves, because of course you also have to sleep, which you do in one of the 39 rooms. There are different room types, which have in common that they are on the spacious side and have very comfortable beds - good sleep is guaranteed. In any case, you don't have to worry about getting bored: You start the morning well here with a tasty and healthy à la carte breakfast, and in the evening it is a culinary fine dining into the party Restaurant Cèpes. But then you're not there yet because: hello Veluwe! Cycling, walking, museums, villages and so on. In our opinion, definitely recommended for a romantic weekend for two.

Location, location, location

At Hotel de Sterrenberg you have everything within reach. From here you can easily visit the Hoge Veluwe National Park, stroll through the Kröller-Müller Museum and walk the green Valenberg Route. Are you more of an adventurer? Then go mountain biking, horse riding or climb a tree. And if that's not enough, you can also visit the nearby Hanseatic cities Visit Deventer and Zutphen, full of history and coziness. Still more interested in royal splendor, then a visit to Paleis 't Loo should not be missed.

Restaurants nearby

After a full day, it's time to spruce up and visit the delicious restaurants in the area. Enough choice. How about dinner at the Weaver Lodge, pure and local food straight from the bistro: it is craftsmanship and quality that matter. Step into the front garden of the Veluwe at the living room restaurant House James or somersault to farm De Waldhorn, where they cook with seasonal products. But what we should not forget is that Hotel de Sterrenberg itself has a top-notch restaurant house has. At Cèpes they do a great job. You can choose from a daily changing four-, five- and six-course menu. The dishes are based on French cuisine and are cooked with products from organic addresses from our own region: chef Robert Hartelman hits the mark!

The eye wants something too

We can chat about this for hours because: Veluwe, a special and very beautiful piece of nature reserve. Here you can stare for hours, wander around, watch birds flutter and, if you're lucky, spot a deer. But what you've come for this time is Hotel de Sterrenberg: to die for. Cèpes' dishes are a small color palette of products from nature. No matter how much color is used in the dishes, you will find so much peace in the rooms and the wellness. The hotel rooms are sleekly decorated, where wood plays the leading role in various ways. Wood is always good for warmth, coziness and atmosphere. Furthermore, there is the right alternation of dark and light, modern and classic for that nice combination cozybut zen. And when we talk about Zen, we move on to the wellness: peek outside everywhere and with the help of the enormous rain shower, Turkish steam bath or sauna, your worries will disappear in no time. More of a hobbyist and do you like reading or being silly? Then dive into the vegetable garden or browse around the library. Pick your strawberries, grab a book, walk to the garden or lounge and sit down.
