Boutique hotel in Portugal

The Rebello, Porto

On the banks of the Portuguese Douro in Vila Nova de Gaia lies the very nice small-scale boutique hotel The Rebello, a five-star hotel that excels on many fronts epic is. Epic for couples who love design (yes!), for friends (the hotel is small-scale, but has enough spacious rooms for a whole group of people: several adults in one room is also possible, which spreads the costs nicely), for the so-called digital nomads (the location of the hotel is perfect in Porto: close to the center, but still quiet for those who have some work hours to do – oh, and very nice catering facilities too), for long stays (There are extra-spacious rooms with kitchenettes, which is very convenient) and The Rebello managed to be a tip-top, fantastic family hotel without being obtrusive or disruptive to the MZK (People Without Children) staff. Kudos.

Location, location, location

The Rebello is housed in four restored 19th-century warehouses that offer spectacular views of Porto's historic center. Peek inside and you'll be struck by the hotel's delightfully retro-cool décor, with styling you could easily emulate at home: we have a huge soft spot for hotels with thick coffee table books, cushions in rich, thick fabrics, and tasteful trinkets in open shelving. The hotel is strategically located in Porto. A short walk takes you to the port cellars, the funicular, and the iconic Dom Luís Bridge. Ribeira is a 10-15 minute walk away. Peaceful, yet close to Porto's action.

Space space space!

The spacious suites offer plenty of space, whether you're traveling with friends or family (or with your partner – you might even want to read a book on the other side of the room). After all, there's nothing more annoying than climbing the walls when you'd rather stick "the other" behind the wallpaper. Moreover, the rooms are cleverly designed: for a change, there's ample storage space, the showers are equally spacious, and the beds are wonderfully comfortable. Oh, and extra beds and cribs are available upon request.

Keffers & Koters

First, back to the family hotel phenomenon: the difference lies in the details. While many hotels tolerate children or emphasize their child-friendliness with garish, brightly colored toys, the people at The Rebello kids Simply great fun, as everything demonstrates. The "Little Rebels Kids Club" is more than just standard childcare: it's a place for kids to explore, play, and simply relax. A multilingual nanny service is available, welcome packs are provided, and special children's menus make dinner as stress-free as possible. All accommodations are equipped with fully equipped kitchens – ideal for families who want to go at their own pace. The beautifully landscaped gardens are perfect for a long afternoon of romping around. Even the spa concept is well-thought-out: children aged 7 to 16 can use the Tranquility Water Lounge during designated hours (7-10 AM and 14-17 PM) accompanied by an adult.

Adults only?

Finally, can we emphasize once again that The Rebello in Porto isn't just great for families? We think the hotel is the absolute best tip because, even as a parent, you're still your own person, with the same passion for hospitality as you were before the kids. So, The Rebello is a hotel that's great (understatement) for both families with kids and (temporarily) for both couples.
