Boutique hotel in The Netherlands
Water tower Duin&Bosch, Castricum
Your very own, completely private boutique hotel, newly renovated and with a history of having you there. So, and now you again.
Say what? A Water Tower and sleeping in it? Of course! Watertoren Duin&Bosch in Castricum is brand new and whether you can sleep there! Although it is almost a waste of time, because with a 360 degree view from a height of no less than 33 meters, you really just want to sit and look outside. To the forests, the dunes and to the sea. And of course to take a gazillion pictures, mentally or with your camera, of the fantastic sunsets you find here. Your very own, completely private boutique hotel, newly renovated and with a history of having you there. So, and now you again.
There is small-scale and there is small-scale. Well, here you are all with you you, yourself and whoever you take with you, but you will not meet other guests: there is only one room in the Water Tower. Nothing less than 360 degree views. Over the dunes, over the trees and if you are lucky and the weather cooperates, you can see as far as Amsterdam. Do you wave? And you wouldn't really be out and about if you didn't wake up with an extensive breakfast. This is also arranged by the people of the nearby De Oude Keuken. You can stay upstairs and eat your breakfast in the room (can you see yourself: breakfast on your king-size bed, with a view from here to Tokyo?), but if you prefer to start the day with both feet on the ground, you are you are also very welcome at De Oude Keuken itself.
Location, location, location
That view you see from your bedroom is something you walk or cycle straight into. Castricum beach is within walking distance and there you will find your share of trendy beach bars (hello, Club Zand!), places for drinks (we're back, Ruiterhuys) and more of that kind. If you really (really) want to go all out, make a reservation at the Apicius star restaurant. Close to the beach, but much quieter than the beach usual suspects such as Zandvoort and Noordwijk aan Zee, that is Castricum aan Zee, so you have all the nice things much more to yourself.
The eye wants something too
Dressed in a suit, that's the first thing that comes to mind here. It is azure blue velvet and industrial gray with warm gold tones here and there and matte black detail: exactly like the sea during a sunset and a storm somewhere further from the coast. Everything is there, but there is nothing too much. No unnecessary frills, no frills and that's why it's exactly right. And, let's be honest, in the end the view steals the show.
Keffers & Kroost
Do you see yourself struggling upwards with your dog or child? And then back down to walk the four-legged friend? Or because mini 'still wants to stomp through the puddles'? No, neither do we, and the people at Watertoren Duin&Bosch have therefore correctly assessed that you should leave any supporters at home. Enjoy some time alone or as a couple. You don't need anything else here.
