Da Graziella, Paris

It may be just us, but during a city trip to Paris the husband and the undersigned would like to have a bit of a hearty lunch. That's possible Da Graziella, where, besides the pizza on your plate, there is much more to see. The magnificent mosaic walls of the former bird shop, for example, have been preserved from the 1920s. The star of the show, however, is the enormous wood-burning oven, made from beautiful Italian Sorrento rock and green marble. That's what we actually want at home too.

This is where the authentic Neapolitan pizzas (Naples is the birthplace of pizza) come out, which are seriously delicious. The flavors on the green marble tables in front of the wooden benches and above the wrought iron chairs depend on the day you come: the owners like to play around with the menu. A crispy base with San Marzano tomatoes, garlic from Ufita and oregano from Alburni could just be an option. Or the same base with a topping of spicy salami from Caserte. There is charcuterie, there are salads and there is a home-made chocolate 'pizza' to finish off with; fried dough bathed in hot chocolate, laced and showered with a shameless amount of powdered sugar. The owners also run Vivant, a great Italian restaurant next door.
