Circular hotspot in 't Gooi: De Groene Afslag, Laren
To get straight to the point: no matter how you look at it, left or right, for a green(er) world we will all (as a collective yes) have to change some things about our life (style). ). Well, not necessarily right away, but a little bit.
And that is quite difficult. Because we humans are also creatures of convenience and 'change' is important all but that. Circular hotspot The green Exit lend a helping hand. They, just like us, strive for a green(er) world and do so - thank you - in a simply very fun and attractive way. The Groene Afslag is a sustainable inspiration location just after exit 8 of the A1 (aha, hence the name). And there's more: De Groene Afslag is also 'just' a very nice place to eat and drink, to work (hello, chill flexible workplaces), to meet, to learn, to celebrate and, above all, to have fun. Anyway, on to 'the green exit' in Laren, 't Gooi.
This multifunctional hub – De Groene Afslag – is for sustainable leaders. There is a café-restaurant, event location, office garden, recording and broadcast studio, permanent location for social sustainability and a high-tech hybrid classroom. So much? Yes, really.
Let's start with our favorite activity: eating (and drinking). At De Groene Afslag there is – in their own words – always something green between your teeth. The menu is simple: there is soup, bread and salad of the week with daily changing cakes or delicious snacks. Good to know: the dishes on the menu are based on impact created on the environment. This way, more vegetables are used than meat and your crumbs do not end up in the bin, but at the tiger worm hotel. Tiger worm hotel? These 'guests' like everything, and you can admire them at the entrance (if you dare).
On to the next one: the office garden. There are cozy rooms for two to four people as well as large rooms for thirty people. The workplaces are intended for (sustainable) 'permanent' companies and flex workers. If flexer you can take out a subscription for one, two or three days a week. Would you like to rent a space for a birthday or company party? That's possible (too)! How nice - when the weather is nice - to celebrate this barefoot (come on, shoes are also allowed)? City beach with beach club 'Corona Beach' – an exclusive creative outdoor hall – is the perfect place.
In addition to all this, De Groene Afslag – together with Slow Food Amsterdam and cookbook writer René Zanderink – organizes an organic market. Here you will find stands from small, organic companies with organic, vegetarian and/or super local products. Think of fresh vegetables and fruit, delicacies, juices or snacks. Every first and third Sunday of the month between 11 a.m. and 15 p.m. you can come by to fill your shopping basket.
For a place in 't Gooi it's a bit run down, but who cares. For a demolition building - where they were only allowed to stay for two years - it was not smart from an economic and practical point of view to make everything perfect. The good news: De Groene Afslag can stay longer, and already has great plans for a permanent location on the adjacent barracks site.
Finally, little green rascals have also been taken into account: the café has lots of fun things to play with!
The Green Exit is open Monday to Friday from 08:30 am to 18 pm.
