The most beautiful addresses in Provence

We won't stay in The Netherlands this summer (which is also a lot of fun, just read here!), then we load the husband/wife, child(ren), dog and numerous suitcases and bags into our Volvo (or other) and dive into French Provence. It is beautiful there. And not only that: there are still so many undiscovered gems. The most beautiful hotels and restaurants with a view over the most beautiful lavender fields (we love it). We have listed a number of them, but know that this list will definitely grow!

(oh yes, and our favorite summer wine of all time, the translucent yellow-pink Cote de Provence rosé, comes from there, that also helps of course)

Villa La Costa

Villa La Costa

With a beautiful view over the hills of the Luberon (a beautiful mountain part of France and an east-west oriented offshoot of the Alps) and surrounded by vineyards is this gem: hotel Villa La Coste. The hotel is a lookout tower overlooking the beautiful nature of Provence. And then the rooms… Those rooms! They are all dressed in light linen with four-poster beds and marble bathtubs (wow!). If you are looking for peace and quiet, you can relax here and enjoy the sun by the pool or one of the massages while enjoying the song of the crickets. For the art lovers among us, there is plenty to see and discover! In the evening, you can enjoy a dinner at Le Louison, the hotel restaurant, during the sunset. What more could you want? (okay, a COVID-19 vaccine, but apart from that, this is really perfect).

Clover Gordes

Clover Gordes

In one of the most beautiful hotels in Provence, Bastide de Gordes Clover Gordes restaurant. Here, chef Jean-François Piège is in charge, a well-known name in the region. What dishes are on the menu this summer? Wild squid carbonara, country tomato salad with tonnato sauce, a beef and lamb skewer with herbs or churros with vanilla ice cream and chocolate. Sounds too good. Looks too nice. Let's go

La Bastide de Fléchon

La Bastide de Fléchon

La Bastide de Fléchon. In other words: a dream of a holiday home in the Alpilles. The villa opens onto a genuine Provencal garden full of hundred-year-old olive trees, wild shrubs and cypresses. The villa has the most beautiful decoration, a total of five bedrooms, a swimming pool, a jeu de boules court and a pool house.

Vineyard

Vineyard

With a view over the beautiful lavender fields and centuries-old olive trees, Vigna restaurant opened its doors just before the summer. The restaurant can be found in Chateau la Martinette and a stone's throw from Lorgues. With a menu from the table to the lavender fields, local products are in the spotlight... Komtie: summer ceviche with watermelon and citrus fruits, gazapcho with seasonal fruit and vegetables, homemade ravioli and of course all dishes are paired with the tastiest wines from the surrounding vineyards.

Niro

Niro

In Aix en Provence you will find restaurant Niro, a new bistro inspired by street food but also by the seasons. And the menu changes every two weeks. And what's on the menu? Well, exactly everything we like to taste this summer... come: zucchini flower tempura, old-fashioned tomato ketchup with galangal or a yellow tomato gazpacho or green zebra fruit with green lemon thyme, tomato sorbet and cumin seeds. Quite a mouthful.

Saignon

Saignon

Saignon is a charming village in the Lubéron. In Saignon you will find all the Provencal elements that make us dream: Small stone houses climbed with beautiful ivy, fountains and views admiring the lavender fields, all located on the edge of the Claparèdes plateau.

Lourmarin

Lourmarin

Another beautiful village Lourmarin. Surrounded by vineyards and olive trees, this typical Provencal village has all kinds of cafes, ice cream parlors, shops and lovely squares. We love it so much.
