Bring from abroad: hotel scented candles

Bring from abroad: hotel scented candles

Hotel Costes, Paris remains a favorite among the international, but certainly also among the French national fashion crowd. And for good reason. The Costes scented candle has been the homescent from the Hotel in Paris and we understand that very well. Scents of waxed wood, rum, mahogany, bitter orange peel, paprika, oak moss and soft notes of tobacco. We are fans. The scent is called Brown. Doesn't sound French, but it covers it all.

Charlotte Rhys, Cape Town, scented candles developed in South Africa under the motto: kind to you kind to nature, we love. The good thing is that the candles are not alone child for nature, they also smell really nice. Fresh and spicy with warm undertones.

Le Labo Okay, Le Labo is officially from Grasse, France, but the brand always makes us think of New York. Perhaps because that's where we first discovered our own home fragrance (body odor, that is: Santal 33 is the only perfume we've had in our bathroom for years). Sandalwood 26 just smells like a never out of style Luxury hotel in The City. €75

Soho House (The Cotswolds), There are Soho House locations all over the world, but at the one in the Cotswolds, in the British home of the brand, you definitely take a Cowshed candle home, right? Then do the Grumpy Cow, which smells of the British countryside, the good way.

La Mamounia, Marrakech, The house scent of La Mamounia, the iconic hotel in Marrakech, is also not to be missed: Marrakech at its best and as only Marrakech can smell. A little orange, a little spice and a little soapy water. Fleur d'Oranger is the original.

Byredo – When life gives you Sweden, make sure you pop into a Byredo store and pick up the Loveless fragrance: simple Swedish luxury in a jar. With a wick. And therefore perfect. Also not overly delicious: Library. Smells, indeed, like an old library. €39

Ortigia Sicilia – We will send back anyone who leaves Sicily without an Ortigia Sicilia candle. Fico d'India is a favorite but actually they are all delicious. The label has a patent on the most beautiful packaging, with a palm tree, and everything smells like summer in winter.
