At Bart we are always looking for unique and cool places that are not comparable any other child. Fall into that category The Gingerbread House and Maja's Hideaway. trustus. Owner Lucinda has personally transformed these pearls (with the necessary help from friends of course) into true retreats in the middle of nature. Yes please. Want to spend the night in a fairytale-like environment in the heart of nature? Let's go on a secret hideaway!

Lucinda (the owner of the pearls) has worked for Doctors Without Borders for a long time. To escape from all the hustle and bustle of her daily life, she thought it was time for a country house. A real retreat for both herself and her family. Time to explore nature. The dream? An infinite one playground (preferably a piece of private forest), without prying eyes where there is a lot of adventure to be had.
And… She especially wanted a place where the kids can romp and play safely. And that dream became reality, because not much later Lucinda came across a piece of forest on the edge of the Veluwe. No holiday park, none camping, the whole place to yourself. The Gingerbread House was in a faded glory and there was quite a bit of work to be done. But Lucinda was up for the challenge and grabbed the opportunity with both hands.
Picture this: lots of wood, lots of cozy vintage elements and, above all, a cozy and warm decoration. We think it's very sweet. But we are certainly not the only ones. The house was soon fully booked almost every evening by friends and friends of those friends. And so Lucinda's new career was born: renting out houses. And admittedly we are happy with that.
Due to the great success of The Gingerbread House, there was room to add a nice new spot. No sooner said than done. You will find Maja's Hideaway in the same forest, but in a different spot. A glass nature lodge in a unique spot in the middle of the forest. You literally and figuratively feel immersed in nature here. Because all the glass literally makes you wake up in the forest, immense? And on the small terrace you can see a perfect sunrise through the trees. And we think that's cool.

Lucinda ensures that a glass of wine is ready upon your arrival and that your entrance is hassle-free. Oh yes... You enter here anonymously, so you don't have to speak to anyone and you can actually enjoy the nature and the place straight away. All you have to do is collect your key from the lock box at the house itself. Maja's Hideaway can accommodate 2 people plus baby. Gingerbread House is suitable for 7 people and the kids are very welcome.
