The story of the Arresthuis begins a long time ago. In 1666, to be precise. The special building has had many functions since then; from Episcopal Palace to military hospital, barracks and palace of justice. And of course the final destination is a prison. In 2007 it was closed and the doors of the current hotel, the Arresthuis, opened. It is centrally located in the city center of Roermond - if you come by train you will be at the hotel within a five-minute walk - and it is also easily accessible by car. Of course there is a parking space.
From the moment you arrive, you feel like you are in the former prison. The large entrance gates, the former courtyard, the bars on the (handsome, indeed) windows and the cell doors that function as a toilet door: everything has been preserved. A place with special stories, a place with history. That is precisely what makes this five-star hotel so special and unique. Everything – absolutely everything – is correct.
Now for the rooms oh boy how beautiful they are all. If you're pampering yourself anyway, go for a suite, like the Judge. Inspired by the judiciary in England and a beautiful room with taupe, white and gray tones. The suite is shrouded in quality and luxury. It will be difficult to tear yourself away from the big bubble band because man, it is so good. Also a bubble in your hand and nothing you can do about it.
