Hillside Beach Club, Fethiye Turkey on repeat – that is an extremely good idea
There really (really) is no place on earth I'd rather be than Hillside Beach Club in Fethiye Turkey. There is no place in the world where we have been four (!) times in just under six years - that says it all, right? Hillside Beach Club is a place where you want to come back time and time again and that never bores. We are not the only ones who think so: Hillside (we are allowed to call it Hillside) has a huge number of returning visitors! People who recognize the staff there. We are now one of those people and really: that is so much fun! Hillside Beach Club on repeatThat's an extremely good idea.
Hillside Beach Club feels small-scale, but with a great (holiday) result. It is (great) fun for kids, but certainly just as fine, tasteful on all fronts (from food to formal and casual looks) and fun for their parents. In fact, we neighborhoods our last time Hillside expanded with a cozy gay couple – childless – who were there for the 23rd (!) time. I rest my case: Hillside Beach Club is a no-brainer:. The resort is built around a small, idyllic bay and is surrounded by green hills. You can retreat there and surrender to the holiday rhythm, peace and the beautiful surroundings. Paradise, they say, and let's be honest: that comes very close. The service is unparalleled, as is the attention to detail (and we don't mean (only) in the interior and exterior of the resort, but certainly also in service and attention to all guests, young and old).
There are places that disappoint the second time around and where it is better to hold on to the wonderful memory of the first time. Hillside Beach Club does not fall into that category. In fact: it seems like it is more fun and better every time. And yes, we are critical guests, make no mistake.

Although an enthusiastic experience story could do with that. We have! We have been there four times now and every time we can't wait to plan the next one. Oh, and the kids (well, the oldest one of almost 7) is now also asking if we can't go to Turkey again... The spoiled brat ;-).
The party starts upon arrival: make sure (especially if you are traveling with children) that the people from Hillside Beach Club arrange a transfer for you after your arrival at Dalaman airport. From there it is another hour's drive and renting a car yourself is really nonsense: once checked in at Hillside Beach Club you can always take the shuttle service to do a (really fun) outing in the area, but actually you go to Hillside Beach Club for the Hillside Beach Club, let that be clear. Five days or a week is perfect and you don't really want to go anywhere during that period. You don't have to: there is enough to do and thanks to the various restaurants and the good chefs the food still doesn't get boring even after a week. But we'll come back to that later; after all, we haven't left the airport yet.
If you arrive around 16.00 p.m., then that is the perfect time timing: the hotel then wraps itself in the most beautiful low sun and you can immediately join tea time happy hour: the cakes and others are everywhere pastries ready, just like pots of tea, while that aforementioned low sun shows its best side and sparkles in the beautiful turquoise sea. You will be taken to your room in a golf cart: that's a treat, because every room here has a terrace that we can best describe as a covered outdoor living room. An extra outdoor space with a nice sofa, coffee table and enough living space around it to, well, live there. And the best part: that outdoor space has an unparalleled view of that equally unparalleled bay as standard. Gift! Do you immediately realize what waking up is like... Right. Waking up to that beautiful, warm morning sun glittering over the bay, while you lazily walk in and out of your own property for a while. The family rooms are nice and beautiful kidsroom that borders the 'terrace' and is therefore just right not right next to the master bedroom, but close enough. So wake up, and then of the moment decide how you want to start your day. Yoga is possible, swimming laps is possible, the kids club in a can, you can have breakfast for 3 hours… Everything is possible. Divine!
Speaking of divine… The spa! There are two of them at the (really not very large) resort. A Balinese spa, where you can book (among other things) the most delicious massages and the hammam. Maybe you automatically choose the first one, we understand, we did too, but then you are honestly missing something: the hammam is delicious (we did too). In the traditional treatment you are soaped from head to toe, rinsed, soaped, rinsed, soaped, rinsed and repeat, and that's wonderful. Oh well, go experience it for yourself and thank me later. This hammam can be found behind/under the main restaurant. The other spa is a piece of Bali in Turkey and can be found in the adults only part of the resort: on the right side behind a gate (the handle of which is simply too high for the smallest guests) you walk via an idyllic pier to a fantastic quiet beach and therefore that spa: if you have 24 hours, treat yourself to In any case, this and your day is complete.
Although the main reason we want to return again and again is that it is so much fun kids. Of all ages. Hand on our hearts: we cannot think of a place where everything is in such good order for all parties of a family. There is very sweet and fun care for the little ones, if you want to enjoy the aforementioned spa or take the boat to the adults only island (oh the joy). For the slightly larger ones kids there is a very nice (but real) play paradise, where something fun is organized every day, such as treasure hunting (and then of course they are painted up as pirates), painting stones or making necklaces. There is a theater (and of course there are rehearsals for a performance) and everything is done with so much love, care and attention that our rather unfamiliar child wanted nothing more than to go to the theater again. kids club, and again, and again. Okayisgood. And if you get bored, there is plenty to do for adults too. This is how we made a (very nice, if I say so myself) tie-dye beach towel at the Hillside Beach Club arts center. Who would have thought! There are open-air movie nights (with popcorn), theme nights and every water sport you can imagine. We'll see you there, right?
