3 x holiday homes in Germany

We, team Barts Boekje x KidsToGo - a collaboration with NaturNes Bio - so, always want to go to Germany. Germany, we hear you think? Of course! The country is nice and close to home and we just love bockwurst and a beer. Moreover, the majority of Germans will certainly move to our coast, so we have more space with our eastern neighbors. Because oh, what a gift the peace, space and nature that we often find in Germany are. Finally, we can simply go there by car: since we this article wrote about how to make a car trip with kids fun, there is nothing we would rather do. However, we often find the large family homes so... Well, ugly. There must be another way?! That's why we really felt exhausted. With results. Of which: three delicious ones holiday homes in Germany where you can enjoy your holiday optimally with the whole family.

Langenbachhof

Langenbachhof

Just look at Langenbachhof in the Black Forest (Schwarzwald), a holiday home where you can stay with half the village (or the entire extended modern family) in can. And that too in Schonach im Schwarzwald, the Black Forest, one of the most beautiful areas in Europe.

The house is suitable for no fewer than fifteen people, large and small, and everything is designed for the perfect long weekend away together. You can make a fire in the fireplace, and cooking on the brick stove in the historic smoke kitchen is a unique experience. Firewood and the right cooking accessories are already ready. If you find that a bit too exciting, there is also a second fully equipped modern kitchen. The drinking water comes from our own source and hot water (also for underfloor heating) is generated by the solar panels. There is no WiFi, so running around and playing games is the motto on the farm (be sure to check Here are our favorite games for the whole family)

You will find the house in southern Germany, just across the border and about a seven-hour drive from the center of our country

The Sternhagener Haus

The Sternhagener Haus

On holiday like before! This 200-year-old farmhouse is surrounded by old fruit trees and shrubs and is located on a large estate in the Uckermar. The owners retained the old-fashioned charm and German thoroughness. Original details such as the old windows and doors have been preserved, but everything is light inside, thanks to the skylights. All rooms are interconnected. In the middle of the house you will find the large kitchen-diner with a traditional wood-burning stove. In the rear part of the building there are two bedrooms and a bathroom with a freestanding bath and a view of the fields. The house is perfect for one or two families with children. You can go there with eight people and thanks to the large gallery, the children have their own space, but the old people always sit - nice and clear - in the middle. And, you can rent the entire house from 180 euros. In its entirety. But then, in the low season and with four people, after that it becomes a little more expensive, but it remains attractive.

What are you going to do? Walking, horse riding, picking apples from the fruit trees, feeling the prickly grass under your bare feet, paddling, cycling, swimming, romping, bathing and staying up late. The Sternhagener Haus is surrounded by (swimming) lakes, meadows and forests. And the Sternhagener See is close by. Opposite the house is Zoch's farm, which has horses, chickens and geese in the surrounding meadows. In the farm shop you can buy meat, poultry, potatoes, honey and homemade jam on Fridays and Saturdays.

You will find the house in North-East Germany, just across the border and a seven and a half hour drive from the center of our country.

Newhaus

Newhaus

Two houses, no sorry, 'zwei haüser' to choose from in beautiful Germany. Called Haus Pine and Haus Sand respectively, and placed on the coast (yes, that is also possible in Germany), just in the dunes and between the trees. With four bedrooms, Haus Pine is the largest. Haus Sand has three.

Haus Pine can accommodate a maximum of eight people for a weekend or midweek. Go with your own club or inspire some friends and get into that car. You can really get there in no time (there are two private parking spaces, so visitors who keep crashing are also welcome). The brand new houses (they have only been there since 2016 and you can tell) are sleek, large and dark. Not inside, don't worry. Inside it is white that predominates, with an open kitchen, a nice living room and also a sauna. The rooms are spread over two floors, so you are not next to each other.

We spontaneously start drooling at the thought of the associated terraces, and especially the idea that we are sitting on them. Throw on the barbecue and you can spend evenings dining among the trees, while the kids run another lap. The houses are just over half an hour's drive from Rostock, a large port city full of pastel-colored buildings, which you would easily miss but is definitely worth a visit. Always following the beaten path is so boring. Oh yes, the houses are together, but you won't be bothered by the neighbors. Or… Maybe someone else wants to come along!

You will find the house in North-East Germany, just across the border and about a six and a half hour drive from the center of our country.
