Jonnie and Thérèse (you know, from De Librije***) open Bar Senang Zwolle
New news: you know, the restaurant owners The Libre in Zwolle, one of the longest running three Michelin star restaurants The Netherlands, will open an Asian restaurant with the name in the spring of 2021 Bar Senang. The new addition opens its doors next door Brass Farmer Home. And yes, that is again in our beautiful Zwolle. The intention is that these two concepts will reinforce each other. Well, that will probably work out fine.
On a city trip to Zwolle? Then read here for all our tips.
There will be a bar at the back of the new business that can seat about 20 people. There can be about 20 people at the front of the store. The concept: small Asian dishes and whether you want to dine extensively or go for a quick evening, both are possible at Bar Senang. The concept is accessible, especially if you compare it with De Librije, but we like that. Bar Senang is a completely new business and cannot be compared to the *** star business.
For all Bonaire fans we also have good news. Bar Senang will also open its doors there! We don't kid you. Namely in the area of Delpfins Beach Resort, like Brass Boer Bonaire. The resort is being expanded with new villas, the owner asked for a new catering concept and that is how the idea for Bar Senang was born. It is not yet certain exactly when the business will open, you understand... With the pandemic and all.
Senang is the Malay word for 'feeling good'.
Jonnie and Thérèse are already busy, the building permit has been applied for and the catering permit has been obtained. Bar Senang will be located in the building where there used to be a shop. The place had been empty for a while and the catering couple par excellence sees opportunities here for the future. They describe it as a nice extension of Brass Boer Thuis. Perhaps there will even be a passage between the buildings. The idea is that when Brass Boer is full, guests can go to Bar Senang for an Asian snack.
And yes, opening a new business in these times is of course exciting, but experienced experts like these know more than well what they are doing. Jonnie and Thèrése are convinced that as soon as the Netherlands is allowed again, the need for guests will be so great that the catering industry will do very well again, just like before. Kudos for this positivity, that's how we think about it at Bart. Go catering, Go Jonnie and Go Therese.
