Marloes Hoedeman, from the we-want-everything label Love Stories Intimates, about her stay-at-home period
Oh what a dream brand the Dutch (but very international looking) Love Stories. We have been thinking this for years and the collection of Love Stories in our dresser is steadily (what are we saying? Rapid!) expanding. And all because Marloes Hoedeman thought that the world is a comfortable, yet sexy (and colorful) bra needed to know (good thoughts Marloes, good thoughts). Is she the inventor of the bralette? No, but that doesn't matter. Love Stories is a household name (at least in our world, even among the busty ones who ignore bras and go wild with pants, dressing gowns and accessories). Also curious about the brains behind the label? One of the most tasteful women we know? So that's Marloes. And this keeps her busy during the Bart Stays Inside period:
Where we are also a bit 'up' is Marloes' beautiful house. We would like, very much, to know where you should go for a furnishing like Marloes's (just google Marloes Hoedeman and Vogue Living, then you will understand what we mean), and so we simply asked: after all, Marloes also stays these days. inside. Voila, the insider tips from the woman herself. To get started, shop at Casa Gitane. A dream brand for a dream interior. We get that. We would like to participate in this ourselves, read the whole thing story just once. And check Selency, a kind of 'marketplace' (we hardly dare to call it that) for the most beautiful brocante, vintage and especially second home articles. Just like Pamono of 1stdibs, also like that. Suddenly we understand: you collect an interior full of unique items, you don't shop them. Point tasks. That collection will become your dream place, and nothing else. Also the Dutch Danish is a favorite. Just like these labels for the necessary art, home accessories and beautiful furniture from the moment: Paul Lelieveld, Piet Hein Eek, Moros, Paola Navone (yes, so beautiful!), Mario Bellini, Kjearholm and lots (never enough) of vintage knoll. These are the ones to watch. Although she can continue for a while and more and more brands are being added to the wish list, says Marloes. Snap. (image via Vogue.AU)
Marloes: “Everything is actually the same but from home. And Love Stories also continues to run from La Casa. Thank god, because Love Stories has all the best to walk around the house in all day (and pretty too). Pajamas all day or the best sports leggings in the smartest designs. It immediately makes you happier. I have created a wonderful workplace for myself at home to keep everything running smoothly. Such a home office is also necessary when there are children and/or a loving partner present... You get the memo: you have to create peace and cleanliness yourself these days. With the new collection (can't wait!) in mind and a lamp on the desk to make things cozy."
Yes, of course we asked Marloes about all the exciting Love Stories news... The current collection is supplemented every month with a new 'chapter' and an overarching theme. Now in online stores: Ticket to Paradise. Sounds good, bringing a little paradise into your home. Just what the doctor ordered. In addition, there is a different one every month bucket list spot used. See, that's where we have the link with Bart: traveling is something you can bring into your home, even if we can't go anywhere for a while. Marloes and her team started in Essouaira (which we are also in love with), then to Jamaica, then on to Formentera (heart), they are now popular Tahiti ended up. At the end of this month, and the last for this season, is Porto Cervo the place to be. Sneek peak: there will be a special capsule with it in May the most iconic LS Swimclub suits to arrive. Enjoy, already.
And of course things are also different. It takes some switching, getting used to the old situation and getting used to the new one. With a brand like Love Stories, with stores (and shipping) worldwide, you have to deal with a full schedule. Then we have to see to what extent this can continue. A Swimming club on tourFor example, with a truck along the entire coast in Europe, was already ready. Although we still have to wait and see, it looks like it will have to be canceled. But no worries, no way! Marloes and her Love Stories continue to make love stories. And we can use that now, perhaps more than ever.
Did you know that Marloes and her husband have two pearly children? That one (yes What a surprise) also always look good? We do, so the question was quickly asked: where do you shop for the kids? Here it comes: Lots of vintage from lovely brands with names like Laura Dols, Bonton, Morley, Animal Observatory, Bellerose, but also brands like Long Live the Queen, Bon mot, Moon, Maed for mini, Rests, oh and so much more… Hanging in the closet. And then, dressed in the most beautiful clothes, to keep them in line just like every mother (and father) now all day long building huts, dressing up, doing crafts, helping with chores around the house, baking cakes, looking at holiday photos and more. Anyway, the kids are all right and all that.
Marloes has a babysitter at home for the kids and to get some more work time. The babysitter shows up at the door at 9:00 and then Marloes disappears herself the home office in the garage. Another one mobile tip: if you work best in complete silence, find the spot in your home where you can get closest to that peace. Even if that is the garage or the utility room. For Marloes, a working day consists of calls and emails, working on the new collection from home, content for the beautiful Instagram make the brand, sandwich in between, sometimes get some fresh air outside, pick something up at the office or take a walk outside with a visit to the store. Around 17.00 p.m. it's the end of the working day and time for the kids, take the small stuff outside and then go into the kitchen to cook. During the weekend work is 'switched off' and no work is done, then it is family time with the kids and they act as if it were a normal weekend. Big breakfast, Pjs all day, movie in bed, you name it. Being creative is distracting, although it is difficult to concentrate with many phone calls. Turn on the music, turn the phone around and then it works, says Marloes. And, last but not least, a tip to keep the house a bit cozy while staying inside: open the windows (provided the weather is okay), light scented candles and make sure it is tidy and clean, then you will enjoy it even more. Point tasks.
Thank you dear Marloes, see you soon!
