'just like' sleeping in Morocco (but close to home)

Fancy Morocco? Hell yes! And how. But even if that is not possible for a while (bummer), we know where you can still experience that 'pretend' sleeping in Morocco experience. Something about Moses and the mountain. Get your fill (and your interior inspiration!) at one of these three addresses and save the real work for later (at the bottom of a list with a handful of inspiring hotels and B&Bs in Morocco, for later).

Who Sanne aka @enstijl follows on the well-known Instagram knows that if she 'ever' were to decorate a hotel (or bed and breakfast), it would probably be a picture covered in all shades of beige (and white and black and also all natural tones out there) will become, Morocco style, the country she loves so much. Almost an Instagram filter, but one you can walk through. Drum roll: the time has come! Drag and style is a fact. Looks like a fairy tale, reads like a fairy tale. It works like this: Sanne, hubby and Offspring moved about four or five times (okay three, but that suddenly seems so few) in two years, regularly walked through the Amsterdam Water Pipes nature reserve and regularly looked longingly at their ultimate dream home. In the green and yet close to home (Haarlem). Fast forward to early 2021: in addition to their own home, the house also offers space for their own boutique (Atelier enstijl) and a luxurious guest suite (Sleep enstijl). Everything is of course completely in the enstijl style: Moroccan influences, soft tones and a dreamy bedroom with a nice super deluxe bathroom on the side.

Copy paste and wag wag to Amsterdam bed and breakfast + rug shop The Weavery where, except for the food, all the boxes are ticked.

Hotel Bazar (Rotterdam) - now temporarily closed

Hotel Bazar has been one of the best options for a night's sleep in the Maasstad for many years. No news, no surprise perhaps, but it deserves to be said. Moreover, you can stay here for a change - in Rotterdam there are pet friendly Hotels are still scarce – bring your dog and the location of the hotel on Witte de Withstraat remains unbeatable. Expect tasteful, although occasionally somewhat dated rooms with a great bed for a remarkably low price (which immediately forgives the somewhat outdated appearance). The breakfast the next morning is anything but average: the well-known oriental delicacy that you are served in the Bazar restaurant on the ground floor of the building during the evening hours also appears in the morning hours. Fresh juice, homemade jam, 'normal' bread and Moroccan bread; a kind of thick warm wraps. Moreover, the thousand and one nights looks combined with a good dose of down-to-earth Rotterdam port city never get boring.
