Natural cleaning products to scrub the interior

We would be lying if we said that cleaning is a hobby, but a clean and fresh house makes us very happy. Especially now that we are at home a lot, get dirty a lot and there is something about washing hands and scrubbing door handles. And did someone shout spring cleaning there? We do all of this with sustainable stuff because it's better for us (bye bye watery eyes and stinging hands) and for the environment. These natural cleaning products deserve a permanent place in the sink cabinet (or on the counter, because looks on point):

Kinfill + SO Clean

Kinfill + SO Clean

We are also fans of the 'new' cleaning products that work with refill packaging. You mix soap and water in the beautiful bottle and when it runs out, you refill it yourself. Better for the planet and healthier for yourself. Kinfill has beautiful glass bottles that you can leave lying around in your interior. And at SO Clean you can return the refill packages and reuse them.

We initially fell in love with the packaging and ease of use, but we are now particularly fond of it Method because of the operation. As far as we are concerned, it is the perfect example that there are sustainable cleaning products that are good for the planet and your wallet (everything can be purchased for €2,99. Exclamation point!) and that make cleaning – almost – a party. Standard on the counter: the kitchen cleaner with clementine. Nice spray.

Another beauty for the counter: the Australian brand Bondi Wash. The products are 100% natural and safe to use in places where you cook food. You can even use the Bench Spray with lemon tea tree to clean toys that your toddler puts in his mouth (= all toys). Suitable for people with sensitive skin and not tested on animals. Be sure to click through to the delicious shower products from down under.

Dr Bronner's

Dr Bronner's

The bottles of Dr. Bronner's can be recognized by the brightly colored labels with lots of text. The '18-in-1' liquid soap comes in delicious scents – from peppermint to green tea – and can be used for practically everything in the home. From dishes to laundry and for your own skin and hair. Because the soap is made from plant-based ingredients, it is nice and gentle on your skin and a nice alternative to aggressive cleaning mess. We are fans of the multifunctional soap from Dr. Bronner's.

Dill & Chamomile

Dill & Chamomile

Good old, we would almost say. Because if there is an address where we always walk out with something from the cleaning segment, it is Dille & Kamille. The well-known lemon soap, classics such as ox bile and fresh-smelling dishwashing liquid made with pure essential lemon oil. Natural remedies and everything equally affordable. Latest purchase: the all-purpose cleaner spray with eucalyptus. Completely biodegradable, gentle on washed hands and effective against bacteria. Exactly what we are looking for.

Marcel's Green Soap

Marcel's Green Soap

The Dutch Marcel had a sink cabinet full of chemical cleaning products that did not make the world any cleaner. The single father wanted to make environmentally friendly soap and started experimenting with his three daughters. Once busy, he also immediately developed six fresh scents, including our favorite orange & jasmine. Marcel joined a small soap factory in Utrecht and had a barn full of soap in no time. Fast forward to now, because there is now dishwashing liquid, hand soap, toilet cleaner, all-purpose cleaner, shower gel and 2-in-1 shampoo. Everything 100% plant-based, vegan and packaged in recycled plastic. Can be purchased at the supermarket and for a supermarket price.

The Dutch brand Seepje started with the peels of fruits from the Himalayas that you can use to wash clothes. To be precise, the Sapindus mukorossi fruit. Aka the foamy super peels. Completely natural and mild for your skin and the environment. A hit, you understand. And that peeling hit was allowed to continue to grow. Still using the peels as a basis for the soap. The Seepje family now includes detergent, fabric softener, hand soap, dishwashing liquid and – yes – all-purpose cleaner. Seepje packaging is made from recycled plastic. And those are bonus points too.

Ecover

This is probably the brand with the most choice. Also for the most specialist dirt. Ecover is a large brand with a focus on 'clean'. Both for your household and for the planet. For the household, Ecover has different types of all-purpose cleaners, power cleaners, stuff especially for the bathroom, windows, floors and toilet. And another load of dish soap and washing up liquid. All with mild ingredients for your own health and that of the planet. While they still do their cleaning work diligently. Ecover has declared war on plastic. And supplies all their products in fully recyclable bottles made from recycled plastic.
