Fine art meets fine food at Madonna restaurant in the KMSKA in Antwerp

Is it a restaurant? Or is it a museum? It's the best of both worlds at restaurant Madonna in Antwerp. Not the least museum that houses a catering business, but the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp (KMSKA) with a really good restaurant concept. During the museum's opening hours it is a Grand Café and in the evening the place transforms into a cocktail bar fine dining restaurant. Fine art meets fine food, with dishes inspired by the museum (because yes, the paintings with well-filled tables make us hungry).

Madonna who? Fun fact: the name was not chosen randomly. If you look at classical art, Madonna is one of the most frequently shown images. These images are fully present in the museum and from September 2022 also as a culinary highlight.

A museum like this is really nice, but after strolling around we get hungry and want to rest our legs. Especially when we see all the paintings with well-filled tables…

You can contact Madonna for that. A grand café, fine dining restaurant and bar of the KMSKA. And for those who don't feel like going to a museum or simply don't have the time: everyone is welcome at Madonna. During the museum's opening hours it is a Grand Café and in the evening the place transforms into a cocktail bar fine dining restaurant.

And that museum is also reflected in the menu, which is inspired by art from the museum. Think, for example, of the famous painter James Ensor with his painting 'The oyster eater', three guesses what Joachim Beuckelaer's 'Vegetable Market' is: that screams vegetables on your plate.
