Bart's best of: the favorite restaurants in Barcelona

Okay, we can't ignore it. Barcelona is ours love in many ways. 1). The atmosphere 2). The beach 3). The people 4). The sights and not to forget 5). The FOOD. Because, as we (and many others with us) think, Barcelona is one of the best culinary cities in the Spanish country. From local food markets with the tastiest paella to trendy hotspots with (healthy) snacks. A paradise for foodies. When in Barcelona we eat. Where? At the restaurants in this Barts best of. These are our favorite restaurants in barcelona. Come on!

But we save the very best for:

But we save the very best for:

The Barts Boekje Barcelona Guide. From restaurants worth making a detour for to the most beautiful hotels, nicest neighborhoods, and addresses you would otherwise walk right past.

Bar Del Pla, El Xampanyet and La Xampanyeria

Bar Del Pla, El Xampanyet and La Xampanyeria

We start with a restaurant that should not be missed during your trip to Barcelona: Pla's Bar. This nice place is completely hot among the crowd locals and after one visit you will understand why. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is perfect and the service scores high. You can eat both classic tapas and tapas with a twist here. The wine? You really can't leave it here. Natural wines, local wines, everything is in stock here. Whether you stop by for a drink or an extensive dinner, Bar del Pla is a gem. If you want to drink even more, then The Xampanyet en The Xampanyeria just a few doors down.

Ziryab Fusion Tapas Bar

Ziryab Fusion Tapas Bar

Another favourite for tapas in El Born is Ziryab Fusion Tapas Bar. The tapas are just a little different, the surprising snacks are inspired by the North African kitchen. Not that there is a 'normal', but the staff is also just a little different. A large part of the people who work here are deaf, just like one of the owners. At Ziryab they get the chance to practice a social profession, and they are very good at it. Don't let the fact that Ziryab is also a shisha lounge, which is located in a different building, hold you back.

Faire Tapas & Wine

Faire Tapas & Wine

Also Faire Tapas & Wine is a favorite for tapas with a twist. At this restaurant on Carrer de Girona (a nice street to walk through anyway) there are only vegetarian and vegan options that even many meat eaters can appreciate. The food is largely made with organic and local ingredients and most of the furniture is second-hand. Inside you can sit very cozy, outside you can watch people. Fun fact is that one of the owners is Dutch and that this is also subtly reflected; for example, the cutlery is in Dutch cans (hello Queen Wilhelmina). The food is good, but the (natural) wine and cocktails are also worth it.

Faire Tapas & Wine

Bistrot Levante

Bistrot Levante

Phew. This one has been on the list for so long. Our high expectations of Bistrot Levante were fulfilled. You want to adopt the interior. The chef too, by the way. The only downside of this bistro was the music. One moment a nice tune, the next a rave song à la De School (nostalgia!). It didn't spoil the fun because the Mediterranean food, with as they say themselves, 'Middle Eastern twist', is divine. The hummus is delicious, the köfte perfectly seasoned and the pita on the side also more than fine. Just like the wine.

Bistrot Levante

Bar Lobo

Bar Lobo

At Bar Lobo is always cozy. With tapas, light dishes and main courses from different cuisines it is the perfect place for shared dining. A good menu with enough vegetarian options. With the tourist street Ramblas within walking distance, Bar Lobo is always pleasantly full. A place where tourists walk to but also the locals certainly hop by here. The bar is exactly what the owners are known for, an accessible menu, tough and a bit slick. Completely of today.

Bar Lobo

How are you going to remember all these places? No. That's why we've collected the most delicious ones, along with even more great places in Barcelona, on this mapNo reason.

Amateur

Amateur

Coffee and pastries by day, small dishes and natural wine by night. If there are also DJs behind the turntables every weekend and the team consists of friendly locals who know what they are doing, then a restaurant deserves a place or Barts Boekje. The amateurs of Amateur understand their trade a lot better than the average amateur.

Masa Vins

Masa Vins

It doesn't stop with those nice Spanish shops that also settle in Barcelona. Masa Vins already had a location in Madrid and came to Barcelona due to success (happy about that!). Every evening the wines of the moment are presented on a light box. The most delicious refined dishes pass by on small stainless steel plates. Think of pistachio sundays, ceviche of sea bass and crostini with pumpkin.

Masa Vins

CASA TAOS

CASA TAOS

A little further on lies CASA TAOS. This little property is located in Nest City Lab, an 'urban hub' where you will only find young sustainable companies. This creates an energetic atmosphere all day long that fits well with the otherwise fairly small but beautiful shop. The vintage furniture, the coffee bar, the large roller shutters, the concrete floor... Everything fits together and can go straight on the Instagram feed. They are the best at making coffee and selecting natural wine, but they prefer to leave the cooking to someone else. That is why they have made their kitchen available to various independent chefs who come here to prepare lunch and dinner. Pick your battles.

CASA TAOS

HELLO!

HELLO!

The interior of HELLO! welcomes you, and how. Mirror tiles (because why stainless steel when you can actually mirror?) above an olive green sofa against the wall, a black and white tiled floor, pink hanging lamps and a row of hanging plants. This bistro is open all day long. During the day for coffee and brunch, in the evening for dinner and (natural) wine. Although the name suggests otherwise, it is really a Catalan place.

HELLO!

Cerveceria Catalana

Cerveceria Catalana

Really authentic tapas, that's what you eat here Cerveceria Catalana. Spicy patatas bravas, prawns and croquetas, you know the drill. Extra nice: there is a daily changing tapas menu. Every day a menu full of varying goodies. Which means To be able to taste everything, visiting more than once is certainly not a problem. In addition to these tapas, you are welcome all day for salads and flutes (the Spanish version of a baguette). Cerveceria Catalana is a very popular tapas bar. Not surprising, because they have top service and delicious food. Must visit in Barcelona!

Cerveceria Catalana

Garage Bar, BENZiNA and Bandini's

Garage Bar, BENZiNA and Bandini's

Plenty of places to fill up the tank in the Sant Antoni district. At Garage Bar the shelves are filled with natural wine and the menu with tapas and cheese. At trendy Italian BENZINA Wine and cheese are also a must, but pasta plays the leading role. There is a good chance that when you go for a glass of wine at Bandinis walks in and ends up with a table full of tapas. It's the kind of place where you linger.

Bar Brutal

Bar Brutal

The dark restaurant may feel a bit strange at first, but that quickly disappears when you sit down and are presented with the excellent menu. It is difficult to choose from the long wine list they have at Bar Brutal have. Stick to glasses instead of bottles so you can taste multiple wines. The menu is accessible but also has some “personalities”. For example, there is burrata with fresh ham, Spanish cheeses, delicious roasted leek with candied onion and figs and fresh tuna with melon.

Bar Brutal

Luigi

Luigi

We present a very nice Italian in Barcelona: Ristorante Italiano Luigi. Fresh ingredients of the best quality. And you can taste that. As a starter, order one (or more) of the delicious antipasti or insalate. My favorite is Melanzane Alla Parmigiana and then immediately add the burrata salad on the side. You can also find classic Italian dishes (including pasta, risotto, pizza) and ice cream on the menu. A go-to Italian in BCN.

Luigi

Cecconi's

Cecconi's

Cecconi's, the Italian classic. They have locations all over Europe such as Amsterdam, Berlin, London and Barcelona. Cecconi's is known for their luxurious and typical Italian dishes. Just like in Amsterdam, Cecconi's Barcelona is located in the Soho House. Good for usYou don't have to be a member to dine at Cecconi's. Some people enjoy a quiet dinner, while others gather for a business meeting.

Cecconi's

White

White

At White they aim to give you a unique experience. With local and seasonal products they create the most delicious dishes with a Lebanese touch. The menu consists mainly of dishes to share. At Albe they believe that food is what brings friends and family together, that is why they chose this concept. With their open space at the entrance it is the perfect place to have lunch. The dining room inside has a more intimate atmosphere where you can dine perfectly.

White

Bērytī

Bērytī

Albe is good, really, but our personal favorite for Lebanese in Barcelona has to be Bērytī. This little restaurant in Gràcia was recommended by a local, and after we tried it ourselves we understood why. Delicious food made to grandma's recipe, good service and a cozy atmosphere. Bērytī is run by two Lebanese friends who decided to quit their jobs to move to Barcelona. Big step, luckily they brought their food with them. They also occasionally host parties (space is limited) and events, check their socials if you plan to go.

Bērytī

Parking Pizza and Sartoria Panatieri

Parking Pizza and Sartoria Panatieri

You could easily walk right past it, but that's exactly what you shouldn't do. In a hidden former parking garage on the Passeig de Sant Joan, a wide side street that runs from the Arc de Triomf to Gràcia, lies Pizza Parking. Hip and cool, yet cozy. And the sourdough pizzas they bake here are also really tasty. Walk ins only, so come on time. Or wait until a spot becomes available, because there are plenty of tables. Another trendy (and tasty) pizza place is Sartoria Panatieri.

FLEETING

FLEETING

A hit among the movers and shakers of Barcelona. On the bar of FLEETING a tower of whipped butter (yum!) awaits you. That butter is combined with refined dishes and natural wine. FUGAZ is run by four nice young guys who do everything from scratch want to make. As they say themselves; "harvested, produced and served by us". Delicious.

FLEETING

Chandigarh Cafe

Chandigarh Cafe

Chandigarh Cafe is a bit out of the way, in Les Corts. That makes it a destination in itself. It used to be a house and between the trees in the old garden there is now a terrace where you can sit wonderfully. The interior and food are inspired by Chandigarh, a city in the north of India. After a visit to this restaurant you will probably also feel like booking a ticket to India.

Chandigarh Cafe

Bodega Murri and BOSCO DE LOBOS

Bodega Murri and BOSCO DE LOBOS

A little closer, but still relatively 'far' from the center, are Bodega Murri en BOSCO OF LOBOS. Bodega Murri is a cozy wine bar near Sants train station. From there, many trains leave for places outside Barcelona that are worth visiting. We also wrote about it in Barts Best of Catalonia. BOSCO DE LOBOS is an Italian like there are more. Not a must visit, but just fine when you are in the area. The terrace is more than fine.

Tiberi Bar and Margarit restaurant

Tiberi Bar and Margarit restaurant

Poble Sec is not the most popular area of the city, but there are also good restaurants here. Tiberi Bar is a spacious place with a large bar and a large table in the middle where it is always "on and cozy". In the weekend the place is also open for lunch. There are many charcuterie on the menu, as a vegetarian (n) you better go eat somewhere else. At Margarit restaurant for example. There is a crazy atmosphere and you can feast on a mix of Greek dishes that you have never tasted and are prepared in an open kitchen. You can make a vain attempt to copy the trick.

Honest Greens

Honest Greens

At one of the branches that Honest Greens counts, you can join us at any time for responsible (for you and the environment), tasty dishes. All dishes are freshly prepared daily and prepared with as many organic products as possible. At Honest Greens you can order from the menu or a plate (read: bowl) fill with carbs of your choice (rice, quinoa, that shit) or salad. After this there is the option of an extra protein source and a plant based side to go. In addition to this self-created meal, you can also order (healthy) snacks and sweets, but you can also put together a full-fledged brunch. Delicious real food, all day long.

Suguru Sushi + Sushi Kibuka Goya

Suguru Sushi + Sushi Kibuka Goya

Suguru means excellent, and that is exactly what this Japanese restaurant is: excellently delicious. How so? The chef has worked in well-known Japanese restaurants for many years and turns traditional sushi into a Spanish feast, including Features ingredients that are often used in Spanish cuisine. Delicious and unique sushi guaranteed!

Another great one Sushi Kibuka Goya. You can find this tent – just like Suguru – in Gracía. Here they serve traditional Japanese cuisine with a Western twist for a very good price and really tasty. The menu is full of varied, fresh sushi.

SuguruKibuka

Round windows

Round windows

If we dare to talk about sushi even in Barcelona, we'll also have to have a round of ramen. Ramen-ya Hiro is known as one of the best ramen restaurants in the city. Few tiktokers to be seen, but often a long line. Keep that in mind if you also want to go to the cinema across the street. Another disadvantage is that they do not have vegetarian options here, fortunately there are also a lot of restaurants that do. At Red Ant Noodle Bar, Koku Kitchen en
Grasshopper Ramen Bar the choice is huge, even if you don't eat meat.

Masil

Masil

For Korean food in Barcelona go to MasilThe restaurant is housed in a narrow building with a neon light at the door, a hip interior, and a menu full of delicious treats.

Masil

Cañete

Cañete

Do you only have one weekend and have to choose? Then Cañete Absolutely a favorite: excellent tapas and preferably sitting at the bar. Reservations are a must. At Bar Canete eat your luxurious tapas in a cozy atmosphere. Are on the map appetisers and snacks made from fresh and local ingredients, but also very tasty specials. How about fried artichoke or tuna carpaccio? Sounds delicious, doesn't it.

La Bona Black

La Bona Black

Still can't get enough of Spanish tapas? Here you go. La Bona Sort serves very tasty and super fresh tapas with a modern twist. You can go to two locations – Eixample & Born – for more than forty (!) types of tapas with meat and grilled vegetables. Think of Spanish sausages, salads, spicy potatoes, eggplant chips and meatballs. If you happen to be in one of these neighborhoods, be sure to drop by!

La Bona Black

Bronzo and Tragaluz

Bronzo and Tragaluz

Bronze is the place to eat easily but deliciously. Also perfect for a drink before you go out to eat somewhere else. Charcuterie, cheeses, delicious appetizers. But also delicious pizzarettes for a small (or big) appetite. That Italian calls cravings on? At Skylight eat your delicious antipasti and pasta outside on the terrace.

Bar Cugat and La Plata

Bar Cugat and La Plata

At Bar Cugat you can eat delicious Spanish food. The menu includes various tapas and bar dishes, as well as salads and other large dishes. How about salmon tataki, burgers and ceviche? Or various SMALL SANDWICHES – pieces of rolls with varying toppings – with anchovies or beef? Everything is nice, everything is good. The same, but then on the beach, applies to La Silver: you can't get more authentic than this and the fried sardines are in great demand here.

Bar Alegría, Bar Canyí and Vereda

Bar Alegría, Bar Canyí and Vereda

Looking for the perfect one date night place? Bar Alegría is the answer. This Catalan restaurant serves traditional tapas dishes and dishes from owner Tomás Abellán. The atmosphere is romantic and casual. The red awnings and interior make for photogenic shots from every angle. No room? A few doors down is Bar Canyí. They don't take reservations, so who knows, you might get lucky. Maybe not, but then there's always Sidewalk. At the neighborhood bar of the hood it's always a party. Inside, and on the benches outside.

GATS and Tantarantana

GATS and Tantarantana

Barcelona has numerous cozy squares with nice restaurants. GATS, from Grupo Tragaluz, is a must in El Raval. On such a pleasant square in El Born is housed Tantarantana. A nice tapas bar with really tasty tapas of good portion size, but also other dishes such as ravioli and risotto on the menu. What do you want (read: must) order? The mushroom croquettes, ravioli, mussels and patatas bravas. It is best to make a reservation. You can sit outside on the square and inside in the narrow restaurant. Oh, and this is a nice tent if you have to watch your money. A very nice place for both lunch and dinner. You're welcome.

Ristorante Countess

Ristorante Countess

For when you're done with tapas and would rather have a plate of pasta in front of you: Ristorante Countess. This Italian restaurant in El Born is easy on the wallet and guarantees good times. The service is so pleasant and we have not eaten anything here that was substandard. Tip from Flip: the pasta with white truffle is divine here. On the inside, Gravin (we may say Gravin) is an authentic, cozy place and when the weather is nice, the terrace on the square is the perfect place for people watching.

Ristorante Countess

Cocky

Cocky

Okay, still one of the gems of the Grupo Tragaluz. Because you sit there so pleasantly in the shade of the mature plants. Because you eat a delicious vongele. Because the staff is so friendly (or at least was). Because you look out over the beach. Cocky so, below the W Hotel in the row of Barceloneta restaurants.

Cocky

Costa House

Costa House

Barceloneta was once the place to be, until it wasn't. Hordes of tourists and seedy restaurants are just not very attractive. But the sea remains the place to be, so the fact that Barceloneta is gradually improving makes us happy. From the first floor of Costa House you have the best view. But also the large terrace comes alive in the evening due to the various activities on the promenade.

Costa House

Casa Ines

Casa Ines

Bring it on with that housing. Casa Ines is hip but still local. We like to go to places like that. The restaurant is located on a square in Gràcia that has been mainly used by locals is found. They serve both traditional tapas and less obvious dishes. The Basque cheesecake is recommended.

Casa Ines

Lola Divine and Hideout Burger

Lola Divine and Hideout Burger

Lola Divine in Poble Nou is definitely worth it. This small wine/tapas bar is Whether the wine or the food is better is up to you, it's all delicious. Fried ravioli, chorizo, fried carrots, steak, chips... Prefer a greasy snack? Hideout Burger is a little further away. A bit hipper than Burger King or Mac.

Clara

Clara

Clara is a concept on the French coast and in Barcelona it is also worth a visit. The location is a bit less idyllic, but what is on your plate is just as delicious as in France. Black chairs, white tablecloths and plates with the name Clara. In case you forget. Order a few dishes to share and the evening will fly by.

Clara

Mina

Mina

At Mina you sit down with love and pleasure. Spanish and Italian are mixed in the kitchen. Especially when it comes to desserts, that is a great success. La prima volta; a kind of cloud of chocolate with everything on it is a mega recommendation. Something different from tiramisu or panna cotta.

Mina
